There Goes The Sequester
Zero Hedge ^ | March 1, 2013

Posted on 03/01/2013 4:34:10 PM PST by Zakeet

Today is the day when, if one listens to Obama whose idea it was in the first place, an unprecedented $85 billion spending cuts will be sequestered, unleashing famine, pestilence, the apocalypse and grizzly bears (as all park rangers will be dead from starvation). Which is why we applaud the administration's desire to preempt this tragic for the nation outcome, by issuing, in one day alone: February 28, $80 billion in Treasury's sending debt to (obviously) what is a new all time high $16,687,289,180,215.37.

In other words, the entire apocalyptic impact of the sequester for 2013 was offset by one day's debt issuance.

Oh, and we didn't label this post Friday humor because it rightfully falls under the Friday grotesque, surreal tragedy category.

Now we're going to lose 170 million jobs ... in my district alone ... thanks to those evil Pubs and that damn sequester ... even though there are only 140 million jobs in the entire country ... and even though the whole plan was dreamed up by the Royal Wee Wee ... and even though we ran through the dough in only one day ... it's still the end of the world ... as far as I am concerned, and other libtard idiots like me, and the entire main stream media!

These clowns are a sick joke. They’ve got less credibility than the boy who cried “Wolf!”. America is defenseless because there’s nobody we can trust in the public sphere. We’re on our own against the communist-Islamist alliance to destroy the nation while the clowns in DC act out a fake melodrama.

Revert to the ancient method of trial by combat fir the
Democratic and GOP parties.

What a bunch of goofs.

Cashiering the whole lot would make sense at this point. This will get a whole lot worse in the next round of
funding battles.

Obama should be impeached. So should Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano. Will there ever again be adults in charge of the government store?

“This fool has no clue about capitalism...”

Obama is no fool. And he hates capitalism. The following link is to an old FR thread, about an even older conservative booklet called “The Revolution Was”, written in 1938 about FDR and the New Deal. It is ALL happening again - amazingly, chillingly so. Only worse.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2185147/posts

An Excerpt:

Worse outwitted were those who kept trying to make sense of the New Deal from the point of view of all that was implicit in the American scheme, charging it therefore with contradiction, fallacy, economic ignorance, and general incompetence to govern....

...it took off from nothing that was implicit in the American scheme. It took off from a revolutionary base.

The design was European. Regarded from the point of view of revolutionary technic it made perfect sense. Its meaning was revolutionary and it had no other. For what it meant to do it was from the beginning consistent in principle, resourceful, intelligent, masterly in workmanship, and it made not one mistake......

Having passed this crisis, the New Deal went on from one problem to another, taking them in the proper order, according to revolutionary technic; and if the handling of one was inconsistent with the handling of another, even to the point of nullity, that was blunder in reverse.

The effect was to keep people excited about one thing at a time, and divided, while steadily through all the uproar of outrage and confusion a certain end, held constantly in view, was pursued by main intention.

The end held constantly in view was power.

“if one listens to Obama whose idea it was in the first place”

Yeah yet again the GOP is sold down the river by this guy. Supposedly at one time we could depend on the GOP to at a minimum protect the military and the defense of this country

I thought my disgust with the politician's of both the parties could not be expanded but I was wrong...its clear that the Dims and the Gophers are the inbedded enemy of the people of AMERICA

The American wing of the International Space Station
has broken free and is drifting into deep space.

I agree. I wish whoever “Tyler Durden” really is would spend a few seconds proofreading his posts. Most times I can decipher his meaning, but it’s almost more trouble than its worth.

I saw it as a challenge and persevered today, but I’ll probably spare the effort next time. Or maybe I’ll helpfully translate it for others to read. LOL

What’s to translate? They issued as much treasury debt today as the entire sequester “cut”.
