The kid is ADHD which means he's probably a pain in the ass on a regular basis but the teachers overreacted. That's because they're stupid.

I have become convinced that the vast majority of school teachers are made from the dumbest of all college students. There are good teachers, yes, but by and large education majors are the most gullible, easily lead, moronic sheep of all college students. Well, maybe social majors but that's about it. Public schools are not trying to turn out individuals who can make it on their own. They want good little workers like bugs in a colony. Smart enough to be efficient but not smart enough to survive without the hive.

I hope the school doesn't have any of these in the Home Ec department...

Deliberately brainwashing children to believe all guns are bad, even edible ones.

Any educator who resents the public's lack of respect for the ed business should read this and take it to heart.

Unfortunately, similar stories are legion. Good dedicated teachers are worth their weight in gold but are increasingly rare, and these fools give them all a bad name.

“Deliberately brainwashing children to believe all guns are bad, even edible ones.”

Exactly. This has far more to do with indoctrination than “discipline”.

My god...how things changed since I left school!! In woodworking class, I made a gun shaped key holder. In 4th grade, I remember playing 'Cowboys and Indians', with our fingers as guns.

Now, is the gun shaped pastry hurting anyone?? Should we have a 3 day waiting period for pastry??

ADHD is what I had in school. It was hard for me, but with the teachers I had, I enjoyed school.

There is stupid, and there is so stupid that it’s hard to believe that someone is breathing. How anyone lets their child go to a public school is beyond my comprehension. The people who run them lack common sense and basic reasoning skills. When I hear such nonsense, I am really, really ashamed that it is happening in this country.

The letter is hereby banned from use in all government schools.

Home Ec?

That's a useful skill. It was removed from the curricula decades ago.

We can't waste theses chillins time on anything practical...

Unfortunately, similar stories are legion.

Click on the key word "zero tolerance." You'll come up with hundreds of such cases from around the country.

Agree, Department of education, Arnie Duncan is from Chicago.. too many similar stories across US.

Arne Duncan: We need gun control, more early childhood education

Education Secretary Arne Duncan made clear in an interview with Bloomberg Radio that he plans to concentrate on early childhood education in President Obama’s second term, and that the country must deal with gun violence now.

Here's the problem...it's learning the difference between play and real. Teaching that play guns are as bad as real weapons is just plain stupid.

We played with toy guns all the time when we were kids...but never touched my dad's Brownie until it was time to learn to shoot.
