"Walesa said in a television interview on Friday that he believes gays have no right to sit on the front benches in Parliament and, if represented at all, should sit in the back, "and even behind a wall."
"They have to know that they are a minority and must adjust to smaller things. And not rise to the greatest heights, the greatest hours, the greatest provocations, spoiling things for the others and taking (what they want) from the majority," he told the private broadcaster TVN during a discussion of gay rights. "I don't agree to this and I will never agree to it."
"A minority should not impose itself on the majority," Walesa said.
The words have enraged many."

Truman was the unqualified product of a corrupt Kansas City political machine, the White proto-Obama if you will. If FR had existed at the time he would universally condemned on these pages. He was as popular as dirt until he attacked the GOP Congress from the far left with his particular brand of folksy BS. His speeches in 1948 on economics sounded just like Al Gore in 2000.
The 20th and 21st Century rats Obama, Clinton, Carter, Johnson, Kennedy, Truman, FDR, and Wilson are the 8 worst Presidents in American history. Maybe ole Harry is # 8, that’s still horrible. All of them had contempt for free market capitalism and the constitution. All should be strongly reviled by conservatives and never praised.
Agreed! Wish we had MANY more politicians like Walesa in the USA, instead of the sniveling politically correct weasels we are saddled with...also business leaders, etc etc....

We’ve been part of the EU since 1973. Once De Gaulle popped his clogs, we were able to join.
