I hate to say this, but we're probably going to have to check into the ethnic backgrounds of the students and administrators involved.

The ethnic background of the students [including the alleged hero] is what you suspect. Don't know about the administrators.

Her email seems adamantly clear. There's more we don't know.

The incident took place on a school bus, so clearly the school has an interest in it. His refusal to talk to police I believe extended to not providing an accounting of what happened.

That may or may not be a valid suspension act under their code of conduct, but schools to not maintain a 5th amendment environment. They will likely punish you if you refuse to talk about an incident in which you were involved.

Really?

I don't know what political leanings my child's high school principal has, but I do respect her intelligence and her daily willingness to act in the best interest of the students at Her school.
I have had various issues at the school that I have always satisfactorily handled at the lowest level possible, and I always felt free to contact the principal directly.

I never needed to do so, since she keeps her staff on task.

As for this “story”, only an idiot would not wait to hear more details before believing the rumors put out by the press.

This is Florida.
Not NYC or Chicago.

Maybe he beat the sh!t out of the gunman after he disarmed him? Still no crime to my mind.
