Lauren Silberman's history-making NFL tryout ended disappointingly quickly.

Silberman, the first woman to take part in a regional scouting combine sponsored by the NFL, suffered a leg injury and had to withdraw after just two kickoffs.

She pulled up after managing just 19 yards with her first kick-off and then 14 yards with her second effort.

19 and 14 yards on two kicks. Feminists can console themselves with the knowledge that women can still serve in combat in the US military.

Had she made it, probably would be the most macho place kicker in the NFL

First half of her career 19 yards, second half 14 yards. Ahhh....the memories!

I remember a kicker a few years ago who suffered a serious injury celebrating a field goal

She may not have been a superstar on the field, but she was a real Hit, in the locker room.....probably at least as popular as the women now on submarine duty.

This woman was a total embarrassment to women. She spoke and became a bigger embarrassment by coming off a total airhead.

Just awful!

I think this goofuss also said today that field goal kicking really had nothing to do with distance . . .

But 19 and 14 yarders? Unless they put the goalposts on the 25 yard line (kinda’ like they do with women’s tees), she ain’t gonna’ make it.

First of all, who told her, with her range of 14 to 19 yards, that anyone in the NFL would be slightly interested?

“The [high school] senior booted a 67-yard field goal to tie the game against Shadle Park Thursday night. Central Valley would go on to win 65-55.

I remember a high school in Georgia who used a girl for extra points. She was good but that is not really saying anything as most extra point kickers do OK.

The thing which set her apart was that she was smoking hot. She played soccer and the entire soccer team for the most part were absolute babes. I mean 9’s and 10’s and I am a tough grader.

Well, there's so much more on the line in a football game, so, yeah it's just a consolation.

I guess I set you up for that one.

I remember my own high school back in the 60’s was full of beauties. I began to wonder if it was just my imagination. Were they really as pretty as my memory had them?

A couple of years ago, I got out one of my old annuals and boy, they may have been even better than I thought. Several were prettier than most movie stars.

Back when women smelled delicious!! (I still get "meloncholy" at the smell of old fashioned hair spray ala my first junior high slow dance circa 1962)

Did ESPN authorize a first-name only for her in reports on similar to “Danica”? How about her own scroll at the bottom of the screen?
