Colorado Senate Meeting to Restrict 2nd Amendment TODAY
Red State ^ | 3/4/13 | Erick Erickson

Posted on 03/04/2013 7:13:18 PM PST by Nachum

Colorado Democrats have gone too far, and the time to stop them is now. On Monday morning the Colorado Senate will take up a package of anti-second amendment measures, four of which have already been passed in the House.

It is time for conservatives to take a stand against this assault on our rights.

The Democrats in Colorado control both chambers of the legislature and the Governor’s office. They assume that this gives them the right to subvert your constitutional rights. They seek to limit your capability to defend yourself by banning concealed carry on campuses and limiting the capacity of magazines. They intend to make it more difficult to procure a firearm through an expansion of background checks and increased fees, read taxes, on the same.

Senate President John Morse has gone so far as to introduce legislation which blatantly contradicts federal law. Morse, with no regard for the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, intends to make gun owners, sellers, and manufacturers liable for any damages that occur from the discharge of a weapon they owned, sold, or produced.

So what can you do?

Michael Brown, a talk radio host in the Denver area, is calling on the people of Colorado to show up en masse at the State Capitol TODAY and then do two things when you get there.

Californication...

The liberals are leaving California in ruins and moving on to their next state.

Illegal immigrants and Hispanics tipped the balance, and GOP failed to win blue collar Dems with their pro Wall Street, pro free trade, WTO, pro corporate America stances. Hopefully the gun issue will return many blue collar Dems back into the GOP column.

That is the way they operate, like locusts. They destroy one productive area and then move to another. And destroy it also.

What in blazes has happened to Colorado? One of the best and most attractive bloomin’ states in the Union, with its great rugged history and heritage of miners, mountain men, cowboys... now apparently pathetically overrun by degenerate hippie scum that votes Obama, craves them some dope, and now even goes in for gun-grabbing.

Probably a good lesson about the dangers of letting liberal filth from the coasts move in. Every red state should take note. Make every left-leaning maggot that that tries to move in know that they are as welcome as smallpox.

It does. Elections have consequences.

In answer to your opening question, there was a recent FR post on how “community organizers” recognized that Denver was the linchpin to gaining control of the agenda. I did a short keyword search but could not find the article to point you to it. Short story was the COs got every low-info voter possible to the polls to get their candidates elected.

But then, electing anyone could result in the same. All it would take is for a politician to say that he is someone whom he is not, then once elected, he could go about the business of subverting the constitution.

It seems to me that this is proof people should not only disallow elections, they should also disallow governance of any sort.

It may seem like I am being sarcastic a bit, but I’m not. I find myself no longer in support of any type of government that has any power over me or anyone else, because government is of men, and men can only be trusted to serve themselves, and by men I also mean women.

I should add that I was listening to Hannity this afternoon on a long drive home, and he mentioned something about Colorado now developing into a “drug-tourist” destination, now that they legalized that crap. Great, just great. All those fascinating historical little towns in the Rockies becoming overrun by spaced-out dopeheads.

I’m going to miss the scenery and all the little historic sites that I’d stop at, but for my yearly cross-country trips, I think I’ll be detouring around Colorado, to the south or the north.

Sorry, but I think most fleeing Californians, myself included, are conservatives. Why would a lib leave that great socialist utopia.

You got it! Between the liberals from Kali and their illegal alien pals illegally voting, Colorado turned purple then blue...just like a person choking to death.

This is exactly why I know, no longer think, but know that this nation is doomed. It is because the liberals fought to get illegal aliens the vote and the Republican party sat on its ass jealous of and wanting that same vote. We reached the tipping point and this boat is going over.

Hopefully the gun issue will return many blue collar Dems back into the GOP column.

Yeah, I hope so but I'm not so sure even that will help.

I was at the hearings today. The ratio of pro-gun voters to anti-gun voters was astoundingly one-sided, favoring pro-gunners.

You would think that would put the fear of losing the next election into the hearts of the socialist senators.

Based on their demeanor and their votes, at least the ones on the judiciary committee have no fear. That tells me that they are either ready to throw themselves on their swords to advance obama's agenda, or they feel confident that they have the machinery in place to win their next elections.
