Well, if people want to be free, they will have to learn to not vote for democrats.

Otherwise, they will not be free.

"to exempt law enforcement officers"

There's a real problem right there that hits directly at the intent of the 2nd Amendment.

Meanwhile, the Senate Judiciary Committee is beginning to hear Senate Bill 196, perhaps the most controversial proposal of all, which would make assault weapons manufacturers and retailers liable for crimes.

Good Lord, leftists and tort lawyers have taken over Colorado..

This is so wretched. Colorado was one of the most "western" of states, and among the most beautiful. I lived there from the 2nd through 6th grade.

It was far from this strange place that sounds more like the last state I bailed out from: California.

How the hell did this happen to Colorado? What western state will be next?

This is the trial run for Obama to seize the e upper hand on all gun control and make it a national law. Colorado was being pushed by Clown and his buffoon Biden.

Enjoy !!!

Pressured by Obama, Biden & Co., Colorado Democrats prepare to set a liberal example.

Gee, what next? "Nobody needs a high powered sports car! The manufacturer and dealer should be held liable for accidents when one of these falls into the hands of an incompetent driver; it is Society that pays the price...".

I don't ever remember electing ANY politician, any time, any where, to tell me what or my fellow Americans need or don't need.

Many of the Dems had small winning margins in the last election. Many of them will be gone in 2014. A few of them will likely receive recall elections before 2014.

Dougherty, Hoover and Tom Mauser, whose son, Daniel, was killed at Columbine, also testified later Monday in support of the high-capacity magazine ban.

None was used at Columbine.

“No one needs an assault rifle,” said the sponsor, Senate President John Morse, D-Colorado Springs. “Society pays the price when one of these weapons falls into the wrong hands.

Morse, your little pet legislation won't stand up to court challenges since there was numerous court precedent from the 70s to 90s that went against the suers of gun manufacturers and gun shop dealers. And beside, DUmmy, your legislation would be in violation of a 2005 Federal law, the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act."

It's no wonder that you have prominently put a severability clause in it hoping something will survive after it gets chewed up.

A group of sheriffs, many from rural counties, spoke against background checks, with one representative, Sheriff John Cooke of Weld County, speaking as a group of supporing sheriffs, all in uniform, stood quietly behind him.

Wrong. That was Sheriff Maketa from El Paso County who spoke, and he is from the largest county in Colorado.

Wiki:

"El Paso County is the most populous of the 64 counties of the state of Colorado of the United States. The U.S. Census Bureau reported that the county population was 622,263 in 2010, greater than Denver County, which had previously been the most populous county.[1]"

Many people are quite mistaken about CO in general—especially rural areas of the Range. The truth is that there are striking similarities in most high profile names, politics and social behaviors to those of Germany.

I don't own an assault weapon.
Those were tightly restricted by the National Firearms Act of 1934.

I do own a Tyranny Response Rifle.

“No one needs an assault rifle,”

Are we discussing the Bill of Needs or the Bill of Rights?

This “dog and pony show” clearly backs the statement: “In all cases, with government regulators, any mention of a “need” for a bill or regulation WILL EVENTUALLY PASS. No exceptions.

This rule applies from the lowest form of a local town’s politicians up to the highest U.S. courts. IT NEVER FAILS!

Stop and think. Has anyone ever heard of a “suggestion” that the government (on all levels) needs to do that eventually was not turned into a regulation or law? I certainly have not.

Sometimes it takes years to happen, but you can bet the farm on it that it will happen.
