The impending sequester did not prevent the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) from acting in late February to seal a $50-million deal to purchase new uniforms for its agents--uniforms that will be partly manufactured in Mexico.
Soon after this new investment in TSA uniforms, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned Americans that the lines are already lengthening at airports due to the sequester.

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the TSA is required to procure uniforms made in the United States. However, uniform products made in Mexico, Canada or Chile must also be considered due to the North American Free Trade Agreement and the U.S.-Chilean Free Trade Agreement.

Every time they change the uniform they look more like law enforcement.
Are the TSA employees required to purchase these uniforms, or are they given to them?

Same as any federal, military, or state mandatory uniform. Police, military, postal service.
Agree they make the mafia look like boy scouts.
They are riding pants (as in horseback riding). The thigh area has to give, while the knee to ankle area has to be tight fitting so they don’t get caught in the stirrups.
Why not have ‘em all dress in their underware? After all, they ARE supposed to be public servants...
Don't we still have warehouses full of these from the 1940's?
Considering what sort of men would like to get paid to grope other men’s junk, I’ll bet those new uniforms are just fabulous, if you get my drift.
