The UN has confirmed that 20 peacekeepers have been captured near the Golan heights by armed Syrian rebel fighters who call themselves the "Martyrs of Yarmouk" brigade.

"The UN observers were on a regular supply mission and were stopped near Observation Post 58, which had sustained damage and was evacuated this past weekend following heavy combat in close proximity, at Al Jamlah," the United Nations said in a statement. The UN has since sent a team in to assist with the resolving the situation.

The brigade seized the soldiers who were stationed in the buffer zone between Israel and Syria on Wednesday evening and warned that if they was no response to their demands within 24 hours, they would treat the peacekeepers as hostages.

An old Spanish saying goes like this: if you go to bed with dogs you'll wake up with fleas (el que con perro se acuesta, con pulgas se levanta).

The Times of Israel is reporting that the UN peacekeepers are Filipinos.

Sure he will. Then send a defunded military to fight it, die and blame everyone but himself.

Uh, what are they right now? (I'm ignoring the grammar)

The UN will, after much huffing and puffing, issue a strongly worded note asking the Syrian rebels release their captives.

SecState John F’ing Kerry will talk to the rebels about his glorious days as a war protester and then politely ask the rebels to release their captives. When the rebels say “no”, Kerry will be hurt and unable to understand why they're being so cruel to him.

The UN generally directs its Peacekeepers to be 99% friendly to the Palestinian side. Trust Muslim terrorists to kidnap the guys trying to help them.

The real reason they kidnapped them is that they are pissed at the US and are demanding more money. The Egyptians made a wreck of their country and got 50 billion plus. The Syrians followed in step expecting the same payout and only got 60 million.

Any questions?

$60 million. Awesome.

More taxpayer funding of our own and Israel’s destruction.

“UN Peacekeeper” sure sounds like ‘jobs Americans wont do’ ... I smell win-win. Heck we could give all those newly discharged sequesterlies blue helmets and one-way tickets to Syria.

Yup, he was in Viet Nam. We haven't figured out if he was a “closeted” VC or NVA fighter though. My bet is the NVA based on his relationship with “Hanoi” Jane Fonda.

Now see, that’s the thing. You baby killers just didn’t understand the nuanced diplomacy that Kerry was engaged in. How could you? You were too busy acting in a manner reminiscent of Jengissssss Kahnnnnn and running roughshod over kittens, babies, children, puppies and the disabled. Who were hardest hit.

Typical...

Side note: The really scary part is some people would read that and go YUP!

God help us.
