Body design by Punk Rocker. Overdone. Damned ugly car.

Looks like the results of a consensus of overreaching European gay hair stylists with a jar of Butchwax.

Priced a 2013 all tricked-out - exceeding $80k. Drove one too. That was fun.

A buddy of mine picked up a Boss 302 Laguna Seca last year. I think he coughed up $76K for it.

I agree; give me the chassis and drivetrain, though.

I prefer the understated SSC Ultimate Aero, based down the street from me. Never have driven or even sat in one — way above my pay grade.

Although just something else to go wrong, I enjoyed the launch control on the Shelby. Might save a few tires and clutches. That thing is scary-quick.

Is it me, or does anyone else detect just a hint (a small one), of the Mach 5 in that design?

"This is sexy; 1968 440 4bbl Charger"

Well, OK, but I am the original owner of a 1969 426 Hemi Charger 500. Less than 20K miles, numbers matching concours winner.

Hemi Orange, only option was Auto, not even a radio. Makes it's own music.

Ran for awhile as mild NHRA SS/EA...too expensive to keep up with the sponsored cars, so back to stock (except for the Ramchargers blueprint).

"Shelby GT500's go for around $60K."

The Cobra Jet Mustangs running in NHRA Stock and Super Stock are INCREDIBLY fast.

I'm a big fan of the '68 Cuda and Dart Hemis (now called SS/AH), but those new Fords are WAY quicker. But they sure ain't as cool.

Wow, a Charger 500 with a Hemi? Those are seriously rare!

I used to park cars at a beach hotel in the late 60’s in Florida.

One night a guy tooled up in a 426 Hemi Dodge Charger.

Awesome power.

We parked a lot of Corvettes, so I was used to world class acceleration.

But when I hit the throttle on the Hemi on the back stretch of the hotel parking lot, I almost spun the Charger sideways!

ghost,

I just saw your post.

I just posted on Comment #54.

I wrote about my 30 second joyride in a 426 Hemi Charger in the late 60’s.

I hope that wasn't YOUR car I was parking!

I went out to Ford’s website and priced a 2014 Shelby GT500 with every conceivable option and it came to $70,416.

"Those are seriously rare."

A total of 392 produced, around 60 with Hemi, rest 440/4.

As far as I know, I am the only original owner of a Hemi 500.

A while back I saw a TV show called "American Muscle" or something like it, they were having restoration specialists rebuild 60's era muscle engines to original specs and testing them on dyno.

A couple fell short of advertised HP, most hit it, and several were over, a few by a LOT!

One version of Chevy 427 was over 500, a version of 454 was over 600, along with a 427 Ford, but the Hemi demonstrated why it was the king......820.

It is good to be the King.

I have searched and searched for that program/series, but cannot find it.
