North Korea warns U.S. of preemptive nuclear strike
reuters ^ | 3/7/2013 | Jack Kim

North Korea threatened the United States on Thursday with a preemptive nuclear strike, raising the level of rhetoric while the U.N. Security Council considers new sanctions against the reclusive country.

North Korea has accused the United States of using military drills in South Korea as a launch pad for a nuclear war and has scrapped the armistice with Washington that ended hostilities in the 1950-53 Korean War.

North Korea, which has one major ally, neighboring China, threatens the United States and its "puppet", South Korea, on an almost daily basis.

"Since the United States is about to ignite a nuclear war, we will be exercising our right to preemptive nuclear attack against the headquarters of the aggressor in order to protect our supreme interest," the North's foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement carried by the official KCNA news agency.

North Korea conducted a third nuclear test on February 12, in defiance of U.N. resolutions, and declared it had achieved progress in securing a functioning atomic arsenal. It is widely believed the North does not have the capacity to deliver a nuclear strike on the mainland United States.

I am afraid this is going to end badly. I am glad I live on the east coast.

I'm having trouble with this one myself. Hopefully, whatever happens here, will wake up the US electorate.

This is what happens when a crime family (or religious fanatics) who happens to run a sovereign nation gets the ultimate weapon.

Zero wouldn’t do anything about it, even if they did more than “threaten”.

Four things we know:

1 - They test nukes
2 - They test missiles
3 - They are trying to develop a nuclear warhead for those missile.
4 - Their rockets require prep time for liquid fueling and provide advanced warning.

Any further test launches should be intercepted by our radar sites in Japan and Aegis cruisers in the Pacific.

Well I have this consolation, if I am killed so will any nearby “superior” socialistic Obama followers, they won’t have any magic shielding to protect them.

If ordered to. I’m not so sure that order would come from Bronco...

And we’re kidding ourselves if we don’t think they’re in China’s pocket.

“I am glad I live on the east coast.”

I hope you don’t live near the ocean or a river deeper than about 6 feet. Who needs an ICBM when a nice 35’ Bertram yacht will do?

Or a semi-trailer or box van hauled up from from Mexico?

Not good to live on any coast. Short-range nuclear missiles can be launched from barges from 200 miles out. There would be no warning, and detonation would occur about 5 minutes after launch.

He doesn’t have a weaponized nuke yet. It is a pretty big step to go from test nuke to a nuke that fits on the end of a missile, is properly fuzed, etc. It should be a bit longer before he can launch a nuclear armed missile.

A nuclear truck bomb or container bomb is a possibility, though.

Missiles are 20th century thinking. We have little HumInt in NKorea. Best for Kim to smuggle a bomb onto a yacht and cruise up to the coast.

Sounds like he declared DC to be the target.

If so, that means unconventional delivery (not missile). A yacht or a fishing boat would be easy to get close enough.

The Great Zero hisself said if we got hit we could absorb it and keep going. NK would only hit one or two cities at a time ... so not to worry, the Great Zero will protect us and send condolances for any losses ... He will greatfully accept any donations towards his next reelection campaign.

All those who want more free stuff will learn that nuclear strikes are also free.
