Hugo Chávez's Final Words: 'I Don't Want to Die'
The Guardian via AP ^ | March 7, 2013 | Staff

Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez died of a massive heart attack after great suffering and inaudibly mouthed his desire to live, the head of the country's presidential guard said.

"He couldn't speak but he said it with his lips … 'I don't want to die. Please don't let me die,' because he loved his country, he sacrificed himself for his country," General Jose Ornella said.

The general said he had spent the past two years with Chávez, including his final moments, as Venezuela's president of 14 years battled an unspecified cancer in the pelvic region.

Hugo: I don't want to die...Please don't let me die.

Fidel:Question: How much of the $10 Billion is liquid, easily converted?

Hugo: That's tough. It's secured in difficult to convert financial instruments.

Fidel:Sorry, Hugo. I need cash NOW!

Is that it? Nothing flowerier than that? How mundane, predictable. I thought for sure, he would say he was done in by the Americans, specifically, the Neocons, Republicans for sure.

He died after great suffering. I'm not sure about that especially if you compare it to the collective suffering he caused.

I heard his last words were of uncontrolled rage against Fidel. "Fidel told me the Cuban health system was the best in the world so I had no problem paying $100,000 per visit which is nothing compared to the $10 Billion reported I was worth. People want to know how an avowed communist gets to accumulate such a unimaginable amount in so short of time. It's not merely the amount of money at all that people resented, it's the very principle of having accumulated, accumulated in Venezuelan parlance to mean forcibly removed from others, that angers them. Money that belonged to others, landowners usurped of their property, money as intrinsically evil, avarice, greed, money as dirty, money the very poisoned fruit of the capitalist tree. Hugo, how could you?

Does anyone really believe he didn’t want to die because he wanted to keep working to save his country?

Even libtards need be embarrassed to try to say they believe this crap.

He knew where he was going. That’s why he didn’t want to die.

When Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini died in June 1989, there was a brutal heat wave in Tehran. Iranian forces sprayed the crowds who took to the streets with water to prevent heat stroke. The quip on the streets of Tehran at the time was “the old man was so senile, he forgot to close the door on the way down.” With the passing of Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez, Khomeini surely has company.

And the two of them can prepare the place for A’jad when his time is up.

Don't worry, I'm sure they're preparing a nice warm room down there for Fidel, right next to the Teddy Kennedy suite.

The guy has critical cancer but he dies from having eaten too many bologna sandwiches.

I wonder if butts can be nationalized in Hell.

Reminds me of another profile in courage: a twice-wounded Guevara, his gun rendered useless, shouted, “Do not shoot! I am Che Guevara and I am worth more to you alive than dead.”

I’m kind of sad that Hugo died like that...

No tyrant should ever die of natural causes. Sad, really.
