45 DAY MORATORIUM ON GUN SALES APPROVED IN LOS GATOS [CA]

A 45 day moratorium on gun sales has been unanimously approved by the Los Gatos Town Council. The moratorium gives town officials time to come up with a permanent ordinance regulating gun sales. The controversy started when Templar Sports opened in December. Some people had protested they didn't receive enough public notice before the store was issued a business license. The moratorium doesn't affect Templar. Town staff expects to bring a proposed ordinance to the council in four to six months.

WOW!

Not impressed. I need to get out of the people’s republic of NY. And you can be sure that California would be dead last on my list. NJ Would be higher up on my list. (Well not really)

Well, I don't know about the pig part, but elitist liberals...yes, there are a more than a few in town. However, the activists are only a few percent.

Unfortunately, I know a husband and wife who fit to a T. Amazingly, they both are addicted to MSNBC.

So there you go. And, more amazingly, he grew up on Ft. Bragg. I think he has unresolved authority issues. She is a typical bigmouth psychotic lib. busybody with nothing better to do but support anything Obama supports.

It’s California no longer part of the United States
Secession can be in many forms and failure to adhere to the Constitution is one form!
Let the whole State secceed!
At least FEMA will not have to worry about the clean up when the State falls in to the sea!

I don’t know if it’s still the case, but there used to be a Ferrari dealership right next door to the high school in Los Gatos.

That should give you some idea of what kind of town it is.

Here in Austin, the council has stated their agreement with the Obama admin. on an assault weapons ban but, don’t have the balls to do anything locally because they’re afraid they might get shot. <);>) yeehaa!

If the LG city council (or any other gov’t) has the votes, they can pass anything they want. If the citizens don’t like it, they can protest or vote them out. If it is unconstitutional(fed or state), it can be challenged in the courts, which could take years.

But........ don’t hold your breath. The 2a is one of the least defended rights we have. SCOTUS ruled against DC in the Heller case. Pre-Heller, it was impossible to purchase a handgun. Post-Heller, it’s now only nearly impossible.

How is this in any way Constitutional?

They are using their zoning authority to determine where specific businesses may locate within the city limits. Zoning law has held up in the Supreme Court for a very long time.

IOW, it's legal, even if it is a taking of property value without just compensation.

The clique of anti-2nd amendment self important liberal ninnies in this town make me embarrassed to live here.

It's a nice shop, not even visible from the street.

Its supposed to eventually have a house gunsmith, as well. If the hysterical housewives of LG don't close the place down first.

After all, it is "only 2000 yards from an elementary school".

LOL, I know him. He lives right down the road from me. Taught both my girls to shoot.

Los Gatos is deep in Cheyenne Mountain, a little farther inside the ground than the StarGate
