Jewish Harvard Students Receive Mock Eviction Notices

In Harvard University’s latest attempt to promote the delegitimization of the state of Israel, Jewish students in freshman and upper class dormitories received mock eviction notices in light of “Israel Apartheid Week”, which is currently being organized on college and university campuses worldwide.

The campaign, organized by the Harvard Palestine Solidarity Committee, distributed notices at the beginning of March which read, “We regret to inform you that your suite is scheduled for demolition in the next three days”, a reference to the group’s views regarding Israel’s treatment of the Arab population.

The Anti Defamation League (ADL) expressed outrage over the prestigious university’s latest attempts to daunt Jewish students and demonize the state of Israel saying, “This tactic is designed to silence and intimidate pro-Israel advocates at Harvard and campuses around the country.”

“Free expression has a place on campus; however targeting the dorms of Harvard students lends itself to creating tension, isolating students and fomenting hostility,” said Robert Trestan, ADL Acting New England Regional Director.

If I had to guess I’d say it’s a combination of 1) The Jews of European descent don’t really identify with Israel 2) Even Jews that do identify with Israel see the Democrats as being pro-Israel enough and 3) Jews tend to be more socially liberal, even though conservative economic policies favor the wealthy, and thus benefit many Jews.

And the reason Jews tend to be socially liberal is the historic emphasis social conservatives have put on Christian values, causing Jews to feel excluded or to wonder where they would fit into the conservative vision of America. I do believe conservatives are improving in this regard, with references to our country’s Judeo-Christian heritage instead of stating our heritage as exclusively Christian, and we are being rewarded with a small increase in percentage of Jewish votes won. It’s still not enough to prevent another Democratic victory. Even if all Jews voted Republican they’re too small a percentage of the population to swing the polls. The main advantage to winning the Jewish vote would be an increase in funding for our side.

2. file suit in federal court (violation of civil rights of students, there are dogood outfits with expertise in this area that could help, too)
3. petition to have the college’s accreditation revoked
4. protest any government grants or funding
5. continue to try to get mass media coverage, exposure of the anti-Semitic climate this school is promoting or condoning on its campus

All Israel wants is to be left alone, but it is surrounded by nations that hate Israel and want to see the Jews dead. This reality is so obvious in so many ways that it is insulting to have to even say it. And yet this reality is essentially ignored or denied by most of the world.

Another reason was in the early part the 20th century the elite universities, law firms, banks, brokerage houses, and social clubs were all run by the country-club Republicans (the RINOs of their time). When the Jews came knocking to join, the Republicans slammed the door in their face and they have not forgotten. The urban Democrat machines were more than willing to admit them. I've always wondered why the universities that have spent a hundred years teaching that the Torah is mythology have such large and utterly quiet Jewish student bodies.

Does anyone think that the "holy qur'an" would be dissected in the same way at these universities now that Arab money is flooding them? Is there any doubt how moslem students would react to such course material?
