When it comes to government data, every silver lining has a cloud. Sure enough even today's NFP number, which on the surface was quite acceptable, had its share of thorny issues.

Those who track the quality composition of the jobs, as opposed to just the quantity, will know that the part and full-time jobs breakdown has long been a major issue. And not unexpectedly, in February according to the Household Survey, the number of full-time jobs declined by 77K from 115,918 to 115,841. The offset: a jump in part-time workers which rose from 27,467 to 27,569, or 102K. Part-time jobs, for those who are unaware, are "jobs" only in the broadest of definitions.

But the most surprising development in February from a quality standpoint was that the number of multiple job-holders rose by a massive 340K, which just happens to be a record. One wonders: how many actual people got new jobs, as opposed to how many qualified single individuals ended up getting more than one job in February in order to boost that much needed weekly income to sustainable levels.

More people having two jobs. A result of Obamacare and companies reducing hours. Companies need to fill the hours they cut and people need to make up the hours they lost . Look at the help wanted signs in businesses. They are popping up all over.

Well, of course, that is the obvious solution, I just don’t understand the Mickey Mouse attitude, why raise the minimum to nine dollars an hour, it should be raised to fifty THOUSAND an hour, that way we could all live like kings...couldn’t we? Then there is the matter of fooling around with gun laws and such, Obama should just declare the whole of America to be a VIOLENCE FREE ZONE and when that works out to perfection people would demand that America be declared a POVERTY FREE ZONE, a STRESS FREE ZONE and so on to complete perfection, heaven on Earth would soon result with everyone living in a state of perpetual bliss. Oh, I almost forgot, he must also declare a DEATH FROM NATURAL CAUSES FREE ZONE and an ILLNESS FREE ZONE.

Wow, those are horrendous numbers. Full time jobs dropping by 77k and the number holding multiple jobs jumps by 340k.

What a pathetic jobs picture. And the market is beginning to recognize it based on this morning’s activity.

The press will report it as an “unexpected” boom, the Obama recovery will be trumpeted. Speakers will quote the figures from podiums and solemnly declare that everything is working out to perfection. Anyone who attempts to point out the absurd fantasy being promoted will be declared an enemy of the empire. Oh, look at the emperor’s wonderful new clothes.
