With the intellectual caliber of today’s average voter, she’ll probably win. Today’s celebrity worship will have an effect too. If she appears on dancing with the stars, she’s got it locked up.

In other words, her TV show was cancelled.

An off year election between a Hollywood type Democrat and a colorless Republican incumbant? It could happen. Any chance on a conservative primary opponent to McConnell?

I have lived in the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the past 27, almost 28 years and was here off and on with the
Army since 1970. Here is my take on Ashley Judd running against Mitch. She needs to establish herself as a citizen of Kentucky, not Tennessee once she has done that, she will cruise to a win. Why? That is easy, the voters here voted for Richey Farmer for Agriculture Commissioner for one reason, he played basketball for the Universtiy of Kentucky. Ashley Judd is one of the biggest boosters for the UK basketball team there is. Notice her sitting directly behind the team bench for each and every home game. That alone is enough to garner the majority of the vote here. Unless Mitch suddenly figures out a way to get the Wildcats into the Final 4 and a BCS Bowl Game he is toast.

If that A-hole Franken can win, anyone can.

Not so fast. Al Franken ran in a midnight blue state. Kentucky is cherry red.

Run, Ashley. You can win. Do it for the children.

... heh heh heh ...

I’m not sure of that. Look at the idiots our low information voters have put in office. Maxine Waters, Shiela Jackson Lee, Al Franken, the idiot in Florida that lost his seat, but regained ii in 2012, the Minnesota Muslim, and list goes on and on.

She isn’t a “screen siren” any more. A pudgy middle-aged has-been actress with a liberal whacko attitude problem.

Kentucky is one over the most “red” states in the nation and is especially conservative when in comes to social issues. While a Judd candidacy might be popular with liberals in New York and Los Angeles, in reality the words “Liberal” and “Hollywood” are toxic in a state like Kentucky, and Judd has a long history of supporting abortion, gay marriage, gun control etc. The only type of democrat that could win in Kentucky is a “Joe Manchin” type centrist who can play the part of the “good ol boy” (even if it just an act). Judd has to much liberal baggage to pull that off.

I have to agree. Kentuckians aren’t Minnesotans. This radical airhead doesn’t stand a chance. Celebrity? I’d never heard of her before this challenge was rumored. She’s some Z-list twerp. That being said, McConnell should resign, and allow another less establishment Republican to eat Judd for breakfast.
Why are people worrying? She’s a nobody, one of the weakest candidates I’ve ever seen, and Kentucky is a red state. They sent one of the most far right conservatives to Washington during the Tea Party takeover for crying out loud. They’re now going to throw in behind a candidate who believes women shouldn’t take their husband’s name in order to “smash the patriarchy!”. Yeah... right. Maybe in Massachusetts. As long as she put on a headdress and some war paint, she’d have no trouble there.

DOWN WITH THIS HOLLYWOOD LEFTIST “CANDIDATE.”

Mitch McConnell is no “Hollywood leftist.” He is not exactly what we want, but, damn, he is pro-American and he loves this country.

Make sure this Hollywood bimbo fails at what she intends to do.

I get what you’re saying, but Trashley has to win over the electorate of an entire red state. Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee represent the ‘hood rats and Ellison has a high number of Somalis in his district in MN. Franken barely (and with help from rampant fraud) won in deep-blue MN. I just have a hard time believing KY voters brook that kind of nonsense.

I could be wrong, though... who’da thunk a year ago, Obama would be prancing along in his second term?

When the Judd family, native son George Clooney and his political family and other Hollywood types are there spouting the mantra “What has Mitch McConnell done for you lately?”, she’ll walk away with it... She’s not stupid, just undisciplined. That will change.

He doesn’t vote conservative! His most recent vote was for John Brennon! He needs a Rand Paul-like candidate to beat him in the primary. Ashley will cream him head to head...low info voters will vote for a pretty face and great legs over common sense every time.

"Kentucky is cherry red."

Yet for decades, state and local government politics has been dominated by the Democrats. I would consider the Commonwealth to be a light shade of purple at this point, giving a Rat candidate like Judd (or Clooney) a fighting chance. Demographics is destiny, and Kentucky is not immune to those changes.

Spent many a year long, long ago as an Army dependent at Fort Knox. Many great memories. I too hope the people of the Bluegrass state see through her and pull the lever for a conservative GOPer. First thing though is to find a good candidate to take on Mithcy.

If McConnell gets lucky, she will get the nomination. I will be surprised if she gets more than 30% of the vote. What happened to the guy who ran against him last time? He came within 6 points of defeating him and the laimstream media said McConnell was “narrowly re-elected.” Democrats who win by that margin have received “a mandate.”
