Mosquitoes 20 times the size of normal mosquitoes could invade Florida this summer, experts say.

The female galinipper (Psorophora ciliata), a very large mosquito with hairy legs, feeds day and night and are common in Florida.

But major tropical events such as Tropical Storm Debby awakened the dormant galinipper eggs, and scientists are expecting a boom in the next few months.

Yeah, we’ve never had a Tropical Storm in FLA before, this is the first time in history. /sarc/

Nasty thing. It’s big enough to actually kill birds and pets. In sufficient numbers it could probably kill anything in Florida.

Although I like your solution, tennis racquets work equally well and do not attract the attention of Law Enforcement.

What's needed is the introduction of a large predator that would clean out the mosquito population.....

.....and everything else.

A friend of mine said the mosquitos in Montana were so big they could stand flat footed and defile a turkey.

Got that right! Up here in North MN when sundown comes, the swarms are like a thick fog rolling through the woods...

Just a common garden variety sawed off shotgun. Don't own one myself. Terrible thing to do to a good side-by-side shotgun.

I was employed by an alphabet soup of foreign affairs agencies over many years, in places most folks would avoid, and I was usually inbound, while everyone else was outbound. Facility security, threat analysis, and criminal investigations a specialty. Have suitcase. Will travel. Tales to tell? Where do I begin!?

Had one in the works for several years. Now that I’ve hung up my spurs, I just might get the time to really focus on it and finish it. I figure there just might be a younger generation with an interest in the Cold War era bush wars.

All too often folks with a good story keep it to themselves. If you fail to put it in print it will be lost.
If for NO other reason, leave the story for your decendants.
You have to know how many folks from WWII are gone and never even told their families they did tremendous things.
Just do it.
