On MSNBCs The ED Show on Thursday, former Clinton adviser James Carville explained why he was not on board with Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Pauls protestations of the Obama administrations drone policy.
According to Carville, Pauls concerns that a drone could strike an American citizen on U.S. soil were similar to those who believe in birtherism and deny evolution and global warming.
Lets remember, this is a party that vast numbers vast numbers believe that the president was not born in the United States, Carville said. Vast numbers think that the earth is 5,000 years old, that dinosaurs and people occupied the earth at the same time. Vast numbers deny climate change. I mean, theyve got people like preppers and birthers and God knows whatnot over there.

How in the world does Mary Matalin co-habitate and raise children with Carville? One of life’s most perplexing questions, if you ask me.

I would not hold Carville to human standards. He supports what he is paid to support, and he supports the Democrat agenda because no Republican would pay him squat.
If Obama announced that all Jews were to be put into camps, he would not only wholeheartedly agree with the decision, but also angrily complain that it was no big deal.

This is what the McCains and Grahams of the world fear most - “Oh no, they are making fun of me!” Let’s see how Rand handles it.

Yeah, well, there’s that...
- ...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said. [Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften [immigration, gay marriage] stance]
- One day after announcing on his radio show that he is "truly considering" running in 2014 for the U.S. Senate seat now held by New Jersey's Frank Lautenberg, Rivera amped up his message today in a television interview and a column on the Fox News Latino website... a moderate Republican who is fiscally conservative but also supports gay marriage and Roe v. Wade... [Geraldo Rivera declares himself a 'moderate Republican' as he eyes U.S. Senate run]
