Did Rand Paul Scare the Air Force into Erasing Drone Strike Data?

The Foreign Policy blog is reporting that there is clear evidence the Air Force responded to Rand Paul’s filibuster by trying to get rid of data previously published online. Silly, silly, people. Nothing on the internet ever really goes away. The blog writes,

“Quietly and without much notice, the Air Force has reversed its policy of publishing statistics on drone strikes in Afghanistan as the debate about drone warfare hits a fever pitch in Washington. In addition, it has erased previously published drone strike statistics from its website.”

Let's get serious, here. Does anybody really think the "Air Force" made this decision?

The "Air Force" doesn't make decisions of this magnitude....the White House does and the Air Force executes.

If they didn’t think they were doing wrong they wouldn’t try to cover it up.

Nope, but he damn sure scared obama. Of course, I do not know why obama would be scared as he does as he damn well pleases and no one in a position or authority opposes him. And no matter what he does the propganda ministry ,a/k/a the main stream media will cover for him. In fact, he could take out a ad in every newspaper in the nation stating he was ordering the execution of whomever he pleased and not one eyebrow would be raised in protest. Johm Mc Cain would shout hoorah. Lindsey Graham would not say anything bevcause he would be on his knees in front of obama with his mouth full.

Rand Paul scared the entire establishment. How dare he! He shook the tree and all the worm-filled fruits fell out.

You are correct, of course.

A more accurate title would be:

Did Rand Paul Scare obama into Forcing the Air Force into Erasing Drone Strike Data?

I was listening to Clyde Lewis Ground Zero last night, he spoke of Rand's reply earlier in the day to Rush and he said (aprox) “Rand was wrong about killing citizens in the US who had a rocket launcher in hand”.
What Clyde discussed was the need for a Zero tolerance for drones in the US. One justification was the 24 Nazis at Nuremberg.
“Even the most vile and evil individuals on planet earth were given a trial and were convicted. Back then no one questioned the validity of due process or the expense of a trial that basically seemed like it was an obvious no-brainer that the accused were guilty”
On this issue I agree, Zero tolerance for drones on US soil.

Born in Brighton. Married a man from Pittsford. First home in Penfield and then raised family in Webster on the cliff where the bay bridge touched the land. We spent 30 years in Webster and then moved down to East coast of FL.

Wonderful life!!
