I can’t imagine living with those nut jobs just over the border. We have on the Korean peninsula a concrete example of the morality of Capitalism vs. Socialism. I read a book called NOTHING TO ENVY about North Korea. Had to keep reminding myself that the book was speaking of events in the 21st century and not the 18th. They must be running low on food again in Pyongyang. The rest of the country has forgotten the taste and sight of real food.
I wouldn't consider them bluffing this time. They are taking things much more seriously right now, and think we are trying to topple their government. (Which, we probably are) If they feel these excercises are an existential threat, we can't just think this is bluffing.

While you may feel compassion for a sick rabid dog, you should not let it in the house with your children. IF it were possible a decapitation strike would go a long way toward fixing this problems HOWEVER the communists made this problem. nor will it EVER defend a democracy against ANY Muslim country,

nor ANY Muslim democracy against ANY Muslim dictatorship,
nor any Muslim dictatorship against ANY Muslim-extremist group.
And, of course, at the bottom of their interest-level is Israel - a democratic capitalist nation lined against Muslim dictatorships AND Muslim extremists AND Muslim kingdoms.
Therefore, when (no longer “if”) North Korea invades South Korea and blows up bases and cities with their nukes, South Korea’s ONLY ally will be Israeli and Israeli nukes.
At which time Obama will blame Israel and all h*ll will break out. As he intended all along.

NK had the 5th largest army in the world, and then we destroyed Iraqs, now NK is 4th. Not the best equipped but they have numbers and fanatical obedience.
They may have nukes. They absolutely have major stockpiles of chemical and bio weapons. They also have the means to deploy those assets in theater (including Japan) and possibly the west coast of the US.

I took part in four annual Team Spirit exercises even though I was only there two years (lucky, I guess) and they b*tched and moaned with every one. It’s heads or tails whether the ROKs (South Koreans) or the Israelis have the toughest army in the world, man-for-man. The ROKs have a first world economy while the avarage person in the DPRK (North Korea) is either starving or near starvation. Stunted, malnourished people usually don’t make good soldiers.

When I got there the first time the ROKs had just shot one of their army dudes. He fell asleep on guard duty at the ammo dump and the Lt found him, didn’t even wake him up.

kind of like when we went into Iraq the first time? However, the Korean war was fought against Chinese soldiers, right? So could this actually be China pushing the buttons?
I couldn’t imagine that any of the high ranking generals from the glory days of ‘’The Great Leader’’ are still around but I’m sure there are plenty from the days of ‘’The Dear Leader’’(the most recent dead guy) and I doubt very much they would have the stomach for war. Why would they? They’re living fat and sassy as it is. And what, they’re going to risk it all for this spoiled, pudgy fat-ass kid? They can’t be stupid enough to think they stand a chance in a war and I could hardly imagine China wanting any part of war. What would be the point? This isn’t the world of sixty years ago. All that ‘’evil, running dog capitalist warmonger’’ crap is so old hat the average Chinese soldier would laugh at it. ‘’Capitalist’’? Well sure comrade, my family have a nice apartment, a computer and a five-hundred channel flat-screen tv’’.
