Skip to comments.Talk show host Vicki McKenna says proposed rules on bullets would essentially ban deer hunting

In the months following the Sandy Hook school massacre, Wisconsin Democrats moved to restrict access to firearms and ammunition.
Those efforts included the drafting of a bill in the state Assembly by Reps. Frederick Kessler, Evan Goyke and Mandela Barnes, all Milwaukee Democrats.
Among other things, the bill would restrict sales and possession of hollow-point bullets, a type of ammunition that expands on impact and creates even larger wounds. Authorities said Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook killer, used bullets designed to inflict maximum damage by breaking up in a victims body. Kessler argued banning such bullets would give the victims of a mass shooting at least a chance of survival.
But that bill would have a far greater impact, said conservative talk show host Vicki McKenna on Feb. 18, 2013.
It would end deer hunting, a key part of the states culture, said McKenna, whose show is aired in Milwaukee, Madison and LaCrosse.

Maybe it’s not unthinking ignorance; maybe it’s malignant evil.
The idiots simply can't grasp the technology they are trying to regulate.
Its not “unthinking ignorance”, they know exactly what they are doing.
So very true.
You mean those nasty bullets the Government just bought almost 2 Billion of for “target practice”.
I think it is “Goldilocks gun control”. That gun is too small, that gun is too big, those bullet expand too much, those do not expand at all...
None of them are “just right”.
Nicely put, their goal is to ban private ownership of firearms. EVERYTHING they do is a step in that direction.
Gotta hate knee-jerk politics. The special domain of the mentally unstable left.
The feigned ignorance is a ruse. They want to “accidentally” ban each and every bullet and weapon, one at a time.
Any person who has any respect for individual rights who ever votes for a Democrat (or anti-gun Republican) should have his head examined.
I don’t use or need hollow points for deer hunting (unless soft point counts) but, I DO for self defense.
Its not unthinking ignorance, they know exactly what they are doing....
You are so right. People are not stupid. They have their own agenda and progressing on it step by step.
It looks moronic to us but we are measuring them by our standards. Measuring by their standards, they are hero’s and geniuses.
The quote about never attributing to malice that which can be explained by incompetence
The rest of it is “but never rule out malice”.
Yeah, that’ll go over well with the hunters in the northern counties.
These dems are overreaching. Give ‘em just enough rope.
I keep burning with the question of “WHY! WHY is no one calling them on exactly what they want to do?”
Why is no one saying “You’re not fooling anyone, you want to disarm the citizenry, AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE?”
Well there ya go.
This could include all bullets when worded like that.
That wording is likely not accidental.
Wait until the deer population explodes even more- around here, man is their only predator.
More car deaths, more crops destroyed by deer, more disease spread by animals who breed almost exponentially, more deer dying horrific deaths as they starve and thirst to death.
Another unintended consequence of the stupid, stupid dumbocraps, the true enemies of our Republic.
Don’t know that I’ve ever heard of a .270 WIN in a hollow point configuration.
Looking at it that way, killing progressives would not be murder, it would be self-defense!
“Yeah, thatll go over well with the hunters in the northern counties.”
Not just up North! Businesses.factories in Milwaukee practically shut down during deer season.
Inspiration for my new tagline....
Ungh, why does it put that “A” with a thingy on top where the apostrophe is (in my tagline)?
The recent incidents have smoked the anti-gunners out of their holes. We now see every wish list they have had for the last 50 years on the table.
Americans, who were mostly hunters, were blindsided when the 1968 Gun Control Act was passed.
Today they are mostly recreational shooters, and not blind to what is going on. They are hopping mad! They will not go softly into that anti-gun night.
Democrat Bullet Bill would call a halt to Wisconsin deer hunting, according to Vicki McKenna.

Does anyone think this has a chance in the legislature?

“I’m convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. We’re going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily given the political realities going to be very modest.
Of course, it’s true that politicians will then go home and say, ‘This is a great law. The problem is solved.’ And it’s also true that such statements will tend to defuse the gun-control issue for a time.
So then we’ll have to strengthen that law, and then again to strengthen that law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, we’d be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal total control of handguns in the United States is going to take time.
My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors totally illegal.”

“Yes, I’m for an outright ban [on handguns].”

HCI, now THE BRADY CENTER has added rifles and shotguns to their list of items to be registered and ultimately banned.
“Such ammunition would be available “only to people who have licenses to hunt, who are on their way to hunt and its hunting season, “ Kessler said.”
Oh, they “fixed” it. Sounds like there’ll be a line at the walmart 2 am opening morning. Of course the’ll decide how many rounds you’ll be able to buy and that will be entered into the computer to check against the next time you buy, probably have info on whether you tagged a deer or not. Nothing has been said about “zeroing in your rifle, they probably want you to use FMJ for that, but NOOO, that would be armor piercing and illegal. They would probably suggest you bore sight it and go about your business. Compromise or give in to them and there will be no end.
Does it print out that way in “preview?”
I put it in my tagline box and hit preview. It didn’t put the weird A’s in mine.
Then I hit Post.
