Let's Be Clear! George Zimmerman Trial Costs The City Of Sanford $600,000 (DETAILS)

New reports show that the trial to determine if Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in self-defense has run the city of Sanford, Fl., over $600,000. Actually, $603,000 to be exact.

City Hall reports that the bulk of that total was paid to employees for regular and overtime work. Half of the $398,000 allocated for those workers went to police officers investigating the case.

But there were some other surprising expenses.

The city spent the rest of the money on legal advice and guidance on what to do with hundreds of public-records requests. Sanford also bought video and audio equipment and portable toilets for protesters.

The rest of the funds were spent on consulting fees for two headhunter companies who were hired to scout a new police chief.

The money, totaled through Feb. 19, has come from city reserves and meant no cutbacks in city services, said City Manager Norton Bonaparte Jr.

The Orlando Sentinel got a hold of the Sanford city records to show a breakdown of how much the trial has run the city.

•Total police payroll expenses: $187,000

The biggest piece: $131,000 in overtime.

•Stenstrom, McIntosh, Colbert, Whigham & Partlow P.A. (the city's law firm): $63,000

•The search for a new police chief: $33,800

•Stage, audio, video equipment for Trayvon rallies: $29,000

•Crisis public relations, PR and marketing: $26,000

•Interim police Chief Richard Myers: $13,000

•Temporary office staffers: $11,000

•Advertising: $10,300 (Legal and other ads placed in the Orlando Sentinel, Sanford Herald, Orlando Weekly)

•Copyright fee for a new city logo: $35

The trial obviously has not been cheap, but we hope that it's all worth it in the end. Zimmerman will stand trial on June 10, 2013.

It’s actually a bargain if you consider how much Trayvon would have cost the state if he stayed alive with offspring on welfare, time in prison, times in court.

I looked it up and you’re right; “Crystal Magnum” the LaCrosse stripper psycho was arrested THREE MORE TIMES after her false allegations, including trying to run over a police officer with a car, and now she’s in jail for murdering her BF.

LOTS of other stuff, too —very, very bad egg.

If Magnum had a bro, it would be TRAYVON.

The railroad of George Zimmerman is despicable. I yearn for the day when he wins huge lawsuits against the media and prosecutors in Florida.

Trial by media race baiting.

The search for a new police chief: $33,800

The new Sanford Police Chief is coming from the regime in Chicago. This didn't require much of a search.

Incidentally the Chicago Tribune and Orlando Sentinel are owned by the same corporation.

Just wait until they get the bill for the cleanup after the post-verdict riots.

This is what happens when perceived thought crimes are prosecuted.

The authorities have too much invested in this to let Zimmerman go free. If somehow a jury finds him not guilty, Holder will immediately come after him on civil charges, but a hung jury may be the best Zimmerman can hope for. It will be too easy, I fear, to stack the jury with people who have made up their minds that he is guilty and who will refuse to weigh the evidence.

The case has already done irreparable harm to the public's trust in the judicial system.

Is there any way to charge Sharpton, Chump, et al for stirring up the masses to create havoc and cost the city? Note that Sharpton who loves to done $5K suits has yet to pay the Upstate NY detective the judgment assessed against him.

And Sanford's new police chief is Cecil E. Smith, from Elgin, Illinois. Given the stakes the race hustlers have invested in this case I don't Mr. Smith doing anything but supporting the prosecution and the politicians.

Nothing like the state gunning for you on every level. Aside from misusing taxpayer funds, improper use of funds that can be seen as tainting the whole case, hell who am I kidding they wanted every reason to try Zimmerman and exonerate Trayvon for what ever reason, ethics and the law be damned. Talk about corruption.
