CNN anchor Erin Burnett during an interview with former first lady Laura Bush that aired Monday posed a bit of a head-scratcher: Should we accept anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism when we want to make change in the Middle East?
See for yourself [courtesy NewsBusters]:
An Egyptian woman, her names Samir Ibrahim, and shes done a lot of things, courageous things. Shes also been criticized for sending tweets that are anti-Semitic, anti-American, Burnnett said during a segment on the George W. Bush Institutes Womens Initiative Fellowship Program.
Does the U.S. need to accept that when we want to make change? You have to support people that do those things financially in term of awards, in terms of all these things because it pays off in the end? Is that a trade-off we have to make? she asked.
Mrs. Bush responded with a laughing, No.
No, I dont think so, not necessarily. But I do think its really important that we do support women in any way we can in the U.S. And I know American women want to do that, she answered.

To save America, do freedom loving Americans have to shove a boot up a commie's ***?
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
With logic such as this, aren’t we all glad that the MSM dorks were naturally kept out of activities that actually require IQ?
Yeah, because Putin’s embrace of the Soviet era really helped Russia become a functioning Pro-Western multiparty democracy. /sarc
The sad part is, these folks provide information to many folks that use the info to make decisions, such as voting.
If you think meteors that hit earth do so because of global warming (which a CNN anchor did) then you’re probably ready to accept anit-Americanism & anti-Semitism. Liberals are smarter than regular folk, don’t you know.
What an evil POS Burnett has shown herself to be. May God deliver to her what she truly deserves.
Burnett’s real question is:
“Shouldn’t we just accept anything Obama wants?”
“With logic such as this, arent we all glad that the MSM dorks were naturally kept out of activities that actually require IQ?
“The sad part is, these folks provide information to many folks that use the info to make decisions, such as voting. “
And they’ll blame us when the unavoidable CW-II starts.
In the realm of morality, betrayal of one's fundamental abstract conceptual principles is a victory for evil and is destructive to the good in the long run.
These “people” are SICK. However,we already knew that. :(
Would Erin have said the same thing if Samir Ibrahim had instead been sending out anti-homosexual and racist tweets?
Those who can.. do.
Those who can’t.. teach.
Those with no appreciable cranial activity.. become the “media.”
A little anti-semitism. Like sending the S.S. St. Louis back to Germany.
How would we affect change by just excepting things the way they are?
Wouldn’t that be the very definition of NOT affecting change?
Everyone is anti-something, it’s human nature.
So what Erin is really asking is this:
“Do we have to disregard American values in America as we attempt to spread American values to people who hate us and laugh at our values?”
Trade-off to achieve what???? These people are certifiable.
Laura should have responded should she (Erin Burnett) accept a little rape or “honor killing” as part of her job description if she were a M.E. reporter.
Throw the insanity back in their faces, every time!
Not necessarily? What part of anti-semitism and anti-Americanism is acceptable to you, Laura? How about, for once, saying "that's a ridiculous question" followed immediately by stating this interview is OVER. Better yet, why don't you just shut your damned faux conservative piehole and slink on back to Dallas.
Mrs. Bush responded with a laughing, No.
No, I dont think so, not necessarily.
I don't see anything funny here, Laura. Nervous laugh? Maybe. But a stern rebuke was in order, not a weak, laughing response.
Laura Bush Says Republicans ‘Frightened’ Women
[Personally, I’ve never liked Laura Bush, but always loved Mrs. Barbara Bush. Mrs. Bush, Senior was the epitome of what a First Lady should be.] Flame away...
College entrance test scores bear this out as well. Students in the sciences tend to have the highest overall SAT and ACT scores.
School of Education students are a bit below the average.
The lowest scores are almost always found in the School of Journalism.
Good answer from Mrs. Bush - sounds like she was prepared in advance for ingnorance and tricks from the MSM.
I’m inclined to cut Mrs Bush some slack here - G-d knows if I was asked a question that stupid I’d have to reboot my brain from the shock. Still, it would have been nice if she had replied more forcefully.
I suspect CNN would find your question offensive - - they have groups they 'like' and groups they don't... Communists are a thumbs up group.
ROTFLMAO - CNN would NEVER do that. THEY have standards! Trashing Jews and Conservatives is just with them - jim dandy stuff - but that's as far as it goes...
Should we accept homophobia and anti-women when we want to make change in the Middle East?

I adored mama Bush for the longest time, until she started her snipping at Sarah Palin. I found it surprisingly catty and beneath her.
The only candidate who frightened me was on the other side. Which candidate did Laura vote for?
Put me down as anti-Laura who's true colors are showing more and more.
Laura Bush’s answer wasn’t very strong, according to this article. I loathe feminism in every way, shape and form; there is no reason why “women” as a class need “supporting”. How about stopping FMG, Mrs Bush??? Since something like 97% of all Egyptian women are so mutilated, how about bringing THAT up?
