Authorities are investigating an airplane crash Monday night in Miami Township in Montgomery County near Dayton, Ohio.
It happend near I-675 South and I-75 North.
Miamisburg resident Steve Pleasant told WHIO-TV he saw a small airplane flying low and it appeared to crash on the other side of a tree line. He said the crash lit up the whole sky.
Area residents also reported to WHIO-TV of hearing at least two explosions. Officers searched the field with flashlights by the Miamisburg water tower near I-75.
Police tell WKEF-TV that the pilot admitted to drinking.
The FAA is investigating. Right now, it's unclear why the plane went down, but on its way down, police say it crashed into a couple of power lines.
Police say that the two victims in the plane were both adult men. It's unclear where they were coming from or going to, but they were up and walking when authorities arrived and shouting for help.
The pilot also told police he knew he was going down so he shut off his fuel lines, which is why it wasn't a "gruesome" plane crash -- and likely why he and his passenger survived.
Officials: Fuel possibly low in crashed plane http://www.whiotv.com/news/news/plane-that-crashed-has-middletown-owner/nWpXz/
That would explain the lack of gruesomeness.
Morgan has been a pilot since July 2012...
Already IFR certified?
Any landing you can walk away from, I suppose...

Next time the boozer flies high he needs to leave the airplane on the ground and keep company with the bottle on the table.
How do you get from “Police tell WKEF-TV that the pilot admitted to drinking” to: Police: Drunk Pilot? Having a drink and being drunk are, sometimes, two different things. Plus the story says he had the presence of mind to shut off the fuel supply before the crash. Does not sound like a drunk to me.
Wheels up should ALWAYS equal wheels down-—highly recommended ay?
John Denver had the same problem.
I live ~ 10 minutes from crash site and had no loss of power....unlike the airplane.

Here is what happens when you fly low then stall, spin and crash.. filmed from inside the airplane.
Oh I agree. But having a drink and being drunk are two different things.
First thing you do after you belly land. Put the gear switch to the “DOWN” position.
The crash does not bespeak of a “crash that lit up the sky” nor a “spectacular explosion.”
Don't you goons know who I am?
Hollywood revisionist, sensationalist fantasy because the main character is black. Rules and regulations are there for a reason.
There are two kinds of pilots: Those who have landed wheels up. And those who will land wheels up.
Piper Cherokee?
And there are only two types of aircraft. Fighters and targets.
