Obviously, this story raises a bunch of questions about an increasing hypersensitivity to guns and gun culture (If not hypersensitivity, than demonization of guns and gun culture). For example, are schools conditioning children to be gut-wrenchingly fearful of firearms?

If that’s the case, if teachers and school officials are indoctrinating students with an anti-gun hysteria, how does that bode for the health and well-being of the gun community?

We need a suitable punishment for the jack booted public thugs who come up with these stupidities ~ maybe dunking them in a pond!

The state of Maryland looks like a gun. Maryland should be expelled from the union for evil shape.

If we invoked ‘zero tolerance’ on stupidity of school officials, we’d have a bunch of empty schools. That’s a good start.

The saddest part of this is that our educational system is so broken and lacks common sense leadership that it now takes and act of congress to get anything done.

Unfortunately passing any kind of legislation to deal with this is an exercise in futility. This is a symptom of some kind of mass hysteria or something, I am not a psychiatrist so I probably don’t know the correct words but I know one thing for certain and that is that when I was a boy adults who acted as nutty as those who suspended this boy for biting his pastry into something that looked like a gun to their demented minds were locked up in the “state hospital” for their own protection and the good of society. Such people were not hired for any kind of job other than possibly temporary work sweeping floors or something if they had not been locked up already. I am not being facetious here, I am very serious. What is going on today is beyond the wildest imaginings of fantasy writers of the days when I was in school. We are living in an asylum that stretches from Atlantic to Pacific and the craziest inmates are in charge. We have a senator who says it is now “LEGAL TO HUNT HUMANS” with guns that have magazines with capacity as large as 150 rounds. We have a vice president who tells people to fire a shotgun through the door if we think someone is about to break in and he is in charge of proposing gun control legislation. We have a president who is of unknown origin but MUST HAVE COME FROM BIZARRO WORLD, where else could he have originated? I could go on and on but WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE!!!

We live in a very dangerous world........

1. Michigan: “School confiscates cupcakes decorated with Toy Soldiers” – A woman made a batch of cupcakes for her son’s classmates. Her 9-year-old son decorated them with plastic soldier figurines. The mother was called shortly after delivering them and was told they couldn’t be served because the soldiers had guns.

2. Maryland: “Pop-Tart Pistol?: 7-year-old gets suspended for gun-shaped pastry”—The child claims he tried to make it into the shape of a mountain but it turned out looking more like a gun. Obviously he was suspended for two days. PS- students are being offered counseling services if they were troubled by the pastry incident.

3. Colorado: “Colorado boy, 7, reportedly faces suspension for tossing imaginary grenade”—He was just trying to save the world from evil forces but apparently that flies in the face of the school’s “no weapons, real or imaginary,” policy. He doesn’t understand why he was “dispended,” either.

4. Maryland: “6-year-old boy suspended for pointing finger like a gun got off easy”—Just suspension, not expulsion? The author of this article quips, “Soon, six year-old children will be forced to sit indoors playing Sensitivity Training and delivering Powerpoint lectures to each other on Safety Within the Home and Workforce Best Practices.”

And there’s more........

My burning question: Would a young school boy be allowed to chew a pastry into the shape of an armed drone?

Just think, an entire class of students who will be traumatized for life. They will never feel safe. They will never be able to just bite a Pop Tart or a slice of pizza again, because they know if they take the wrong bite, they might become thought criminals.

Problem? Too many lawyers today to let people get away with tar and feathering people.

The apparent lack of common sense in the public schools is a deliberate part of the Cloward Piven tactic of loading the system with ridiculous nonsense until the system collapses

And here I thought it was simply part of the incredible stupidity of those who live inside the education system.

No, they are not part of a conspiracy ~ that requires much more brainpower than they are exhibiting.

I am now 65 and My late Dad was a WWII vet who saw combat in France after D-Day. If any teacher in my school system tried that with me they would have been singing soprano for the rest of their days (if at all). Whatever happened to the Dads with balls?

I also think that some of this silliness could have something to do with the recent “recommendation” that schools have to “equalise” punishments between black students and other students. The other students aren’t as aggressive generally, so they have to pick on such silliness to even the numbers. As far as I can recall, it’s mostly been boys who have been punished for the silly stuff so far.

Couldn’t it be a sub-conscious conspiracy, ie they don’t exactly know they’re part of it? They’ve all been taught in the same leftist indoctrination centers. They probably all have the same knee-jerk response to every new leftist measure or meme, without quite realisng it. I think these days it would take an exceptional person, most likely with exceptional parents, to be subjected to that mess for over a decade of your life, year after year, and not have it influence you some. Even the children of staunch conservatives go off to college and get caught up. The Sixties used to make “cute” movies about it (Sandra Dee, Jimmy Stewart as the father, etc, that kind of thing). The kids would somewhat convert their “bumbling but well-meaning” parents. (The wife was usually portrayed as less “bumbling”, ie, more leftist).
