El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa ^ | Wednesday, March 06, 2013 10:54 AM | Terry Maketa

The President of the Senate, Morse, has stipulated that we have to get seven Republican co-sponsors before he will grant late bill status on the Senate side. That is not going to happen. After the sheriff's finish testifying on the gun bills it won't change, but will get worse.

Now I’ve read Senator Wray was also joined by Senator Marble who won’t abide if it becomes law.

So if we got 2 state senators who have loudly and publicly said they will not obey it, you can bet there’s uncountable others who won’t either. Have fun shopping in the border state Wyoming or Utah or Arizona or Nebraska or New Mexico or Kansas or even Oklahoma. Heehee...

This is really wonderful. As wonderful as things can be given the circumstances. Two openly defiant pols and a large contingent of county Sheriffs voicing opposition. Oh, yeah!

I feel a little less lonely now.

Don't quote me on this but previously I read that none of these laws, if passed, will go into effect until July 16th. I am on some retailer's notification lists should they secure some new inventory so I might get my illicit merchandise without taking any trips. While it's still licit. ;-)

Thanks for reminder and link. Emerson can’t catch a break. Does anyone have an update on how he’s doing?

I cut my conservative teeth in Colo Spgs. The political environment there set me on the path and I am forever thankful.

I spent every other week in CO for almost 2 years (1986-1987). Grew to love Colorado Springs for the climate, scenery and people.

That is also where my wife and I went for our brief honeymoon in 1971 when we were married.

I hope they cook the goose of these traitors. I am sure the residents of the Springs know what a traitor is and what you do with one. hee hee hee

Agreed. It is a beautiful place.

I was in the Springs between 87 and ‘95. I saw the “decline” of the Gazzett.

Sad state of affairs here in Colorado. My wife and I are both natives going back four generations for me and three for my wife. We are shocked at how it is changing and are considering fleeing the State before it gets too bad.

Sorry

Good people are always welcome in TX & OK.

Mountains are very small and few.

There are other advantages.
