Here's where we are on Obama's gun control proposals:
Gun Owners of America ^ | Mar. 14, 2013 | GOA Staff

Here's where we are on Obama’s gun control proposals: •Today, the Nut-Left Democrats on the Senate Judiciary voted to report the Feinstein gun ban –which could ban between 50% and 80% of guns and magazines in circulation today. It may not even get a majority in the Senate – much less the 60 votes needed to pass.

•Tuesday, the Judiciary Committee passed, by a 10-to-8 vote, the universal gun registry bill. Chief sponsor Chuck Schumer has been unable to achieve Republican support from anyone other than the anti-gun Illinois Republican Mark Kirk. Therefore, unless another Republican sells out at the last minute, we believe we can successfully filibuster this ill in the full Senate.

•Tuesday, by a vote of 14-to-4, the Judiciary Committee also reported a Boxer bill that would increase, by $10 million, the funding for an existing school safety program. The money could be used for armed guards, as the NRA proposes, or it could be used for an anti-gun study. It is therefore neither inherently "pro-gun' nor "anti-gun."

•This brings us to the central battlefield: Last week, the committee reported, by a vote of 11-to-7, the Veterans Gun Ban, S. 54. The lone GOP vote in favor came from Chuck Grassley, who indicated he would oppose the bill on the Senate floor unless it was improved from the committee-reported version.

As we see it, the chief strategic objective is now to keep gun control votes from coming to the Senate floor by opposing the "motion to proceed" to any bill which is going to be used as a vehicle for gun votes.

That would certainly mean that senators should oppose moving to proceed to universal gun registries or the Veterans Gun Ban.

If you can Contact your senator. Ask him to oppose any motion to proceed – by filibuster if necessary – to the Feinstein gun ban, the universal gun registry bill, the Veterans Gun Ban (S. 54), or to any other piece of legislation being brought up as a vehicle for votes on these anti-gun proposals.

My RINO senators (Chambliss and Isakson) would have to clear any action with McLame, Light in the Loafers Lindsey, and of course their new friend, Barry. Besides, a filibuster might cut into their tee times, and Happy Hour.

My democrat senators from the People’s Republic of Maryland favor confiscation of property from law abiding citizens without due process.

Or in simpler terms:

Assault Weapons Ban / Magazine Limit - DOA

Money for School Safety - Probably will pass (politicians have a hard time saying to this "for the chilun'" crap.

Increase Penalties for "Straw Purchases" - Probably will pass.

"Universal Background Check" - Probably won't pass, at least in it's current form with the registration scheme, however this is the most dangerous piece of legislation that is still breathing and the gun grabbers are really putting all there cards into it and portraying it as a "sensible and reasonable" common sense solution that a majority of American's support, when really it's little more than a Trojan horse for gun registration.

Mental Health Records (Veterans Ban) - This hasn't really been discussed much in the media or by the politicians so it is sort of a wild card. My gut feeling is that it won't go anywhere because of the anger from Veterans on the Right and Privacy/Patients Rights groups on the left.

While these rat bills are utter abominations, it might be wise to let them have their precious anti-2A bills...

Consider: Rats voting for these bills will be extremely vulnerable in the ‘14 election. There are a bunch of them, so many that I doubt these bills would pass simply because of their fear of being thrown from office. Remember, the ‘94 landslide was caused in part by the Clinton Gun Ban. A repeat landslide would be nice, and would send a rather clear message.

Of course, the problem would then be the gutless, spineless “leadership” in the House. But, I simply cannot see the rank and file House Rep going along with passing such legislation. If they pressed the issue, Boehner and Cantor might be thrown out. Bonus all around!

Yes I don’t trust either one of them as far as I can throw them. I always send them a message so they know which side of an issue they are supposed to come down on. Not that they do.

I'm thinking of a new tagline. How does, "I will not comply," sound?

Certainly we should support any roadblocks to keeo the bills from coming up for a vote. But we should also try to make sure that there are enough votes in the House to kill these bills.

They need House approval in addition to Senate approval. And even McCain indicated the assault rifle ban, among others, is dead in the Senate.

At the same time we are fighting battles on the local and state level against these demons from hell.

I have NEVER heard so many mass shootings in the news as recently. I find it hard to believe the Obama Adminsitration is not behind engineering some of them. If he can engineer a 2% decrease in the RATE of increase of the Federal Budget into a situation where significant impacts are felt by the public, the Bastard and his minions are capapble of anything - as we saw recently with that witch in Ohio who voted 6 times for Obama.

Watch this one close! The 1968 GCA and Clinton’s AW ban both passed because the Government promised millions to the states for “crime control”.

In other words, both bills passed because of PORK!

The fact that such an egregiously anti-gun bill has gone from committee to a vote is dangerous and bordering on treason. It makes me sick that we’ve come to this point in this nation.

100 years ago, the sponsors of such a bill would be driven out of DC tout de suite.
