So basically, her reason for being too stupid to answer Sen. Cruz’s insightful question is that she’s really, really old.

What a great day it will be for this country when all the dead wood in the Senate is retired or under ground!

read post 91. Would have been cool if Cruz would have done that!

The trick is to think through all the possible counter arguments before you speak. Not that hard to do. Like playing chess.

Try more research on the issue of, does being the child of an American citizen but being born while that citizen is across the border working in another country make her child a citizen of the country she happened to be working in at the time? You say, oh, but its not enough to be a citizen to run for President, you must be a “natural born citizen”.

Again, try more research on whether being born across the border of another country while your American citizen mother is working there means you’re a citizen of America but not a natural born one...

Hint: It could be that the determining factor of your “natural-born” status is the home country of your mother, NOT the fact that she “dropped” the baby while working on another soil.

Ted Cruz himself claims that “natural born” means, a citizen at birth, not a citizen by later processes such as immigration and naturalization. He claims to be a citizen at birth, and that this is actually the definition of being “natural born”.

All I’m suggesting is, more research.

I know of constitutional experts who disagree that an alien who drops a baby on American soil has created, by that act, an American citizen, much less a natural born American citizen.

IOW, disagree that the “anchor baby” concept is even valid.

I suppose the fact that we accept “anchor babies” as citizens helps confuse this issue. But the truth is, you cannot turn around and argue that the same is true if an American woman has a baby while she is out of the country, that her baby becomes a citizen of that country and not America, OR that the baby is American BUT not a natural born one.

If that were accepted as operative, just think of the implications for millions of Americans born to Americans, through all our history from the beginning, but on the soil of another country because of temporary life situations.

I watched it. Meh. Nothing “explosive” about it that I could see.

There were two important developments over the last hundred years that have led us to this...

1. The redefinition of a “crime” to mean simply breaking the law.

2. Judicial activism. Redefining laws by twisting the language or creating new law from the bench.

It used to be that a “crime” had a victim, a perp, and damage done. Everything else was just considered public nuisance misdemeanors. We now have “felonies” where there is no victim or damage other than to the law itself. Anathema to a “Republic” based on freedom.

It used to be that a judge looked at the facts of a case and made a decision on if they fit. Further, if the law itself was within the rightful limits of governing power. The jury was to back him up on this. We canned the “reasonable man” standard and are now using precedent as a dodge for doing what is right. All for the sake of politics rather than any real sense of justice.

Now, we have what Jefferson warned us against...

“Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’ because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.” -Thomas Jefferson

And this is about as clear a violation of our Rights as we have EVER seen.

Would have been cool if Cruz would have done that!...

Could have used the tack that the Bill of Rights is NOT saying what are Citizen rights. Indeed, the Bill of Rights is merely stating what GOVERNMENT may NOT EVER do. The rights under discussion exist because we were born with freedom. The BOR is there so that govt cannot take them away. And, NO, the govt can't just try, supposing SCOTUS will turn them down.

post 91 blew the child porn argument.

a) citizens can not posess child porn thefore they cannot posess assault weapons

b) military and police have can posess assult weapons therefore they also have the right to posess child porn

same reasoning, and shows the short logical circuit

As a former Democrat I thoroughly enjoyed Ted Cruz taking a clueless DiFi to the woodshed. It doesn’t take much to pin a liberal to the mat and watching DiFi squirm and use emotional hyperbole to get her point across in an argument she had already lost was priceless. Hey GOP leadership follow the examples of Senators Cruz, Rubio, and Paul and maybe you’ll finally realize it doesn’t take much to defeat liberals.

I’m 77 years old and can ask this question.
If we do not let airline pilots fly a commercial plane with people on board why should we allow a 79 year old post menopausal woman dictate our Constitution.
Likewise, her fellow (post menopausal) Leahy,72, to sit there also.

The GOP won’t follow their examples. What they will do is drum them out of the Party for standing up to the Democrats

She popped a gasket because she knew she couldn’t answer the question.

In fact, she popped a gasket INSTEAD OF answering the question.

She didn’t go anywhere near answering the question as to whether her “logic” on the 2nd amendment could or should be applied to other parts of the Bill of Rights.

I remember when Barbara Boxer gave a performance like this when a military officer addressed her as “Ma'am.” (She demanded to be called, “Senator.”) Joyously, that's not a problem anymore.

I hope it won't be long till Feinstein is gone, too.

In fact, she popped a gasket INSTEAD OF answering the question.

Seems to be a tactic they've adopted now that they are sure they won't be held accountable. Another recent example would be Hillary's "What difference does it make?" Despicable.

These liberals infuriate me. People trying to run other folks lives, thinking they know what is good for you and I.

This is not liberty / freedom.

Damn I wish Texas could go it alone and forget all these wackos.

...I’ve been here 20 years!

20 years only!? Ugggh! Seems more like 60... Please retire Feinstein. I know you have no life outside of being Mrs. Nanny State and your power trip in the Senate. But please, for the sake of the country, consider Palm Springs.
