"The popular media narrative is that this country has shifted away from conservative ideals, as evidenced by the last two presidential elections. Thats what they think. Thats what say. That might be true if Republicans had actually nominated conservative candidates in 2008 and 2012," Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) said in his address at CPAC this afternoon. Perry also slammed President Obama for undocumented illegal immigration being released from detention centers due to sequestration cuts. "This president's posture, it'd be laughable if he hadn't taken it one step too far, dangerously releasing criminals onto our streets to make a political point," Perry told the crowd at CPAC. "When you have a federally-sponsored jailbreak, and don't get confused, that's exactly what that is -- when you've had a federally-sponsored jailbreak, you've crossed the line from politics of spin to politics as a craven form of cynicism."

Ted Cruz is opening up on the Rats. He has the old dog Cornyn close in tow now.
An Rick Perry is slamming Obozo for the "federally-sponsored jailbreak".
Oh, how I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
Good!

Good job, Gov. Perry.
Hopefully, they do not make him debate.
He's gotta' get straight on the business of preferring Mexicans to Americans as well ~ we can't have that.
Or he has ( or had ) back surgery and get off the pain pills that made him loopy during that time...
He’s right...but he needs to either change his HPV shot/’strategic’ fence BS or join them. Because he has a few pretty leftist positions of his own.

Good for Perry. Though he probably won’t be invited back to AMNESTY loving CPAC/ACU after those comments.
CPACs idea of a worthwhile discussion of immigration reform

I want someone who will go after Obamacare and ALL Democrats. There is no such thing as a good Democrat.
That’s great. I’m starting to have regrets about Rick Perry’s run in 2012. I didn’t think he was the best, but I certainly think he was better than the last two standing. There’s no doubt he would have made a far, far better president than President Obama (or Romney for that matter).
Yes, Perry did rock the house.
I am very familiar with his past.
Grew up 14 miles from him. Know both of his parents.
His ancestors moved to this county 3 years before my family did. My ancestors moved here in 1889.
Agreed.
I like Perry and I supported him in the caucus last year and he gave a great speech today and I’d feel just fine if he were president. I’d trade him for Obama in a NY minute but when it comes time to make a choice next time, electability will be my top priority. Any Republican is far superior to any Democrat. We’ll be lucky if we have a nation to save.
I like his positions on landuse and energy. A lot. I think he’s be great in heading up Interior/BLM or the EPA/Dept of Energy.
But he has some VERY big issues outside those areas and he’s tied at the hip with the RINO wing. I hope he comes around on them, but his history ain’t good.
“Hopefully, they do not make him debate.”
And Romney could debate, the problem was he was an unprincipled, lying, scummy member of the GOPe, as well as a Bishop in a religious cult.
Perry would have beaten Obozo. Then again, so could anybody with principles and a backbone. But noooooo, they had to give the nomination to the one guy who invented ObamaCare.
Electability? It worked so well last time. Not worth having this argument again. Go vote for your moderates. Just don’t bitch when thy govern that way.
