SenateDemocrats on Wednesday defeated the latest Republican effort to repeal President Obama's health-care law, signaling that the 2012 elections did little to change the bitter political divisions over the 3-year-old policy.
The vote came as both House and Senate take up their budgets for the coming fiscal year and also debate this years spending bills, each of which will have to decide whether to continue funding the health law.
n. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, brought an amendment to the Senate floor Wednesday that would have stopped all funding until economic growth improves, which would effectively shut down the program.
If we were to fully fund and implement Obamacare now, it could very well push us into a full recession, Mr. Cruz said in a news conference before the session.
He admitted he didnt have much hope of pushing it through the Democrat-controlled chamber, and was proved correct when the chamber voted 52-45 along party lines to defeat his amendment.

Ted Cruz Ping!
Now here is a Real, Complete conservative, as compared to Rand Paul!
Paul lost me when he gave the homosexual crowd a nice present about marriage.
As for Cruz he;s brilliant, got balls, sticks to his conservative beliefs thus far and is got a good future.

52 Democrats voted to continue the Federal death grip on America.
Try it again every 3 months, Senator Cruz. Try it again, and again and again.
Agreed.
I wonder at the value sometimes of these symbolic votes that every knows will go nowhere.
The benefits are they get everyone on record. They give the good guys a chance to speak and sometimes get accurately reported. They occupy liberals for a bit of time so that for those periods of time they aren’t able to perform mischief.
But, is it worth it, given that it’s wasting time?
I guess I’d prefer our best conservative minds be occupied in strategizing how to take over one of the major broadcast networks or to launch an affiliate.
It’s a shame to waste them doing this stuff. You almost wish you could elect the best, but then allow them to appoint a placeholder while they went around doing important stuff.
The vote on anything can be 99 to 1, I will ask how did
Ted vote?
Odds are I will agree.

Easy there Skippy! You are writing about the US Senate!
The US Senate is renown for wasting time. It is their specialty!
Why, they are so busy wasting time that cannot be bothered to write an Annual Spending Budget.
What’s that - - - ? NO! I can’t believe it! The Senate is going to write a Spending Budget - - - ?
Sen. Reid must have been asleep to have missed that opportunity to continue to do nothing.
The “Republican” Establishment would never allow it, even if the Democrats did.
How is is conservative to postpone the socialist health care plan only until the economy improves. He should simply be opposed to the program because it is unconstitutional, period.
Of course one should be able to count on Boehner to defund it, but if you may have been noticed, he destroys people that oppose O'Care.
LOL!
But, you are right. I suspect the original Senate, when senators were put in place by the state legislature, wasn't quite as ridiculous. They had been sent there for something other than their own personal popularity.
Michele Bachman, and it nearly cost her the seat she has in the house.
Boehner has declared ObamaCare is the law of the land.....
