CNN Exclusive: One conservative's dramatic reversal on gay marriage
CNN ^ | 3/15/2013 | Dana Bash

Washington (CNN) -- You probably recognize Sen. Rob Portman from his tireless campaigning for Mitt Romney in 2012. He was even on the short list to be Romney's running mate.

He's been a leading Republican voice on economic issues for four decades.

Now, the prominent Ohio conservative will be known for something else: reversing his hardline position against gay marriage.

He invited CNN to his Senate office to reveal the news. "I'm announcing today a change of heart on an issue that a lot of people feel strongly about that has to do with gay couples' opportunity to marry," Portman told CNN.

Did he explain or was he asked to explain how two people of the same sex can be husband and wife?

Still waiting for that answer from the same sex “marriage” proponents.

If you listen to the Media and any other Libtard, Marrying the one you “love” is the defining test. Being against it makes you a Bigot, Hater, Teabagger or Evil Republican.

Preventing Gays from Marrying is akin to the story of Romeo and well, Romeo. Or is it Juliet and Juliet?

Just think what the story would look like in today’s world.

Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo?
I’m down here doing my Sister you bigoted Republican hater.

The world has gone insane as the republican party does nothing to intervene by standing up in support of traditional marriage and the important role of a mother and a father as well. The few in charge who should had never had this degree of power have made things much worse. Everything that is happening; with the economic down turn and the cover up of such; while we see most of the news reporting on stories as this; so the other issues are buried.

They in turn elevate those stories as a top story (though we know it’s agenda driven)
It’s becoming... Gay this.. gay that. Every day...... every where I go.. Gay TV. Enough..I am beginning to believe the agenda driven gays are obsessed with this behavior. They want acceptance/mandate thoughts if they can’t conform different opinions, what will they do to those who disagree...Tolerance.

To Portland: The people out front are activists that are imposing their agenda on all of us while people as you, Mr. Portman, wimp out so you maybe accepted. The Gay issue is the stronghold for the democrats. Ha! Not Americans being exceptional for that loser party!

I distrust/dislike the democratic party from this to the stance on abortion (which is population control to them), the lies, the cover up, the puppet in charge and the destruction in which this party has caused ... while the opposition dines with these malicious calculating dishonest creeps. Hell proud to be called an extremist, John McCain and Co. I pray the majority of these current politicians will be fired in the next election.

Buh-bye, Portman. I guess it shouldn’t be any surprise that a Romney bumkisser would crap on traditional American families by running like a scared bunny rabbit from the militant turd pokers and their newsrooms.

Enjoy your “15 minutes” bouncing from one gleeful, handwringing Democrat TV interviewer to the next, Portman, you traitorous scumbag.

Marriage is between a man and a woman, Mr. Portman. If you can’t comprehend that, you’re not only unfit for office, but you’re no Christian, either.

Quite so. In which case, he should resign and allow Gov. Kasich to appoint someone who isn’t compromised. Ken Blackwell would make a fine Senator.

It has to do with another revelation, one deeply personal. His 21-year-old son, Will, is gay.

The notion that we must endorse the sin of someone we love is a reversal of all morality.

Rob Portman, and indeed most of Western civilization, will continue to decline--rapidly--if the population doesn't get this concept correct.

We can love our children, but not their behavior.

What if I were an alcoholic, or what if I were inclined to abuse someone who angers me? I was "born" that way, you know. I can't help myself, it is just the way I am!

Well, Mr. Portman (and the rest of the West!), you are just going to have to accept me. More than that, you're going to have to pass laws that ENDORSE my actions!

There is such a thing as "right" and "wrong".

We are calling good "evil" and evil "good", something the sages from Moses to Jesus to Paul to Aquinas to Calvin and Luther warned against. And we do this to our detriment.

Wow, disgusting. Is Portman just George Voinovich in disguise?

And it’s cause his son is a gay ala Cheney and his lesbo daughter. His precious baby can’t be “discriminated” against, no no. You can’t still love you son while opposing his “right” to “marry” another dude. This is major problem, people with gays in the family find it easier just to be pro-gay especially when it’s their kid. Decency and logic mean nothing as long as junior is happy and doesn’t stop talking to you because you don’t validate and “support” every decision he makes.

I remember there was a lady on here talking about her gay son and how conservative he was on 90% of issues, it was clear from the way she talked that she’d help him rob a bank if that’s what he wanted to do.

Are the floodgates gonna open now? Is half of the of establishment Republican gonna go pro-homo?

Will there be a major pro-homo Republican running in the 2016 primaries?

Yes, Rob has been a huge dissapointment. He was handed the Senate seat. Has done nothing with it. No help on filibuster. No words to slow or halt Obama. Just a go along Bushite. Has sold Ohioans down the river.

This takes the cake however

If we have to tolerate homosexuality like it is normal, what’s to stop them from making us tolerate pedophilia, bestiality, polygamy.

It’s pretty disgusting.

Given that he supported Romney over Santorum , he was probably on the sodomy band wagon already.

>> Portman: “I’m announcing today a change of heart on an issue that a lot of people feel strongly about “

Therefore, law will be passed to persecute those that refuse to support and service the son’s homosexual behavior.

I just saw him gushing over his ‘change of heart’ due to his son's limp wristedness. If he wants to follow his son to the lake of fire that's his choice but he has no business using his position to force the rest of us to do the same.
