Oxon Hill, Md. - U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, a Janesville Republican, defended his budget plan, warned of the perils of a debt crisis and said government needs to listen to the people during a speech to thousands of conservative activists Friday morning.
"The crucial question isn't how we balance the budget - it's why," Ryan told the Conservative Political Action Committee Conference. "The budget is a means to an end. We're not balancing the budget as an accounting exercise. We're not just trying to make the numbers add up. We are trying to improve people's lives."
[snip] He said when you read the Senate budget, "you find that the Vatican is not the only place blowing smoke this week."
[snip]"They call their budget a balanced approach. The thing is -they never balance the budget, ever. In fact, they call for another trillion-dollar plus tax hike on top of even more spending," Ryan said.

The core problem with Ryan’s approach is that under it all, he is assuming a steady 4+% growth rate in GDP over ten years as the salvation. That has NEVER happened in the last 40 years.
Yes and is he still assuming an unemployment rate of less than 5%? How is that happening? Plus for the 50th time I am asking why he cannot seem to find even one govt agency he could bear to see shuttered. I can think of 5.
I read that the WI boyscout also made his budget numbers by assuming O-care would be repealed. Ryan really is just a cheap Government drone when the rubber meets the road. He is as worthless as Romney and both are a s useless as tits on a bull.
