Interesting information. Thanks for posting.
It looks as thought the ammunition shortage is easing up a bit in WA State, still restricted to two boxes, but at least that is something.
Vt and Pa are a surprise.
(Ahem!)
Lookie where this plain ole flat state of Indiana places.
It may be “corny” in some respects, but if you’re away from the major urban areas (Gary/Hammond & Marion County/Indy) it does have some advantages.
I live in MA. What can I say? It’s insane.
“...Virginia is a Stand Your Ground state.”
I believe Va is NOT considered a ‘Stand Your Ground state’ but maybe it depends on definitions.
Don’t feel bad Californians.
The Brady Bunch still thinks you’re #1

Mississippi might move up after july 1st
PA is a surprise, as I believe we have more NRA members than any other state by far, and also believe that the number of gun owners here is extremely high, and higher than the article says. The Hamburg Cabela’s is the largest gun store in the entire world....that alone speaks volumes IMO. PA is a guns state. 20th? Hard to believe.
The criteria used to evaluate the States as far as friendly to gun ownership are absurd.
I simply do not see their correlation.
I looked at the writer’s bio and he is an expert pistol marksman. I am sure he knows that well.
He must be only talking about handguns. I still do not think the listings sounc credible.
I’m not sure I trust this listing. Arkansas is listed as worse than Missouri, yet Arkansans do NOT have to get a sheriff’s permission to buy a handgun as you do in MO.
Good Old Florida, at number 12. We have over a million Concealed Carry Permits issued at this time. No restrictions on Evil Black Rifles. The only problem is finding a place to shoot.
In Arizona, as far as I know, one is not required to volunteer the information to law enforcement that one is carrying concealed. This was the case when I got my CCW permit quite a few years ago, but might have changed since then.
If asked by a police officer in the course of an official interaction, though, I would answer truthfully.
One criteria/element I would like to single out as arbitrary and probably wholly fictitious is “the percentage of gun owners” in each state.
Why would a gun owner or non-gun owner for that matter, freely volunteer their weapon status in any manner?
Inch, meet mile.
It has, can, and will certainly in the future - be used against them.
Assume 99% of the law abiding citizenry is armed with multiple weapons.
What is our elected government and their appointed minions going to do?
(Or is the better question - What will an unelected UN or NGO do?)
Initiate searches in all of our homes and properties without first obtaining a court ordered warrant based on probable crimes?
FYI ping
Isn’t there a problem with Vermont?
There is no permit required for concealed or open carry for residents, but this translates into the fact that a Vermont resident, who concealed carries, cannot do so in any other state since he does not possess a permit. No other state has reciprocity with Vermont.
He can't. The 'rats have the state Assembly and Senate. The only thing he can possibly do, which is unique among the big blue states right now, is (maybe) stop them from getting even worse. The 'rats don't have enough votes to override a veto.
You guys ever watch the show ‘Alaska State Troopers’? I see it once in a while when I can’t sleep...its hilarious that just about everyone that gets pulled over by the cops has multiple weapons on them and/or in their vehicle...
The other nite in particular a guy was drunk (not over the limit though), riding his ATV down a highway where its not allowed and the cops pull him over - ‘you got any weapons on you’ and the guys pulls out an enormous loaded 45 magnum from his pocket...the cop eventually lets him go, with his weapon and ammo, no ticket and just tells him ‘keep off of the road on your ATV’....pretty darn funny. What would have happened in your state with the exact same scenario?
I’d fit in in Alaska I think, but I can’t take the cold.
