Sadly, that is probably true in a number of states that would otherwise be categorized as gun-friendly. The bulk of the people out in the hinterland have good sense, but the crazed lefties gravitate to, and take over, the larger metro areas.

That's definitely true in Colorado's case. Denver wants to be the San Francisco of the Rocky Mountains.

OK, I have written my federal and state elected officials that I am against the unviersal background check and told them why I oppose this law that will do nothing to decrease gun violence.

I really believe it will not decrease gun violence.

.....but.

Having said that some of the amendments I saw being proposed a week ago, reduced my level of concern significantly about such a law. (I said reduce not eliminate.) I also was discussed when I found out that prominent gun rights groups like the Second Amendment Org were willing to go along with both state and federal universal background checks if certain provisions regarding destruction of records were included.

The reason, I bring this up is the set of words in the article, “...”This bill as amended strikes an important balance between ensuring that the bill reduces the number of guns in the hands of criminals while allowing all law-abiding citizens to purchase the guns of their choice,” state Senator Morgan Carroll said following Senate approval...”

Anyone have the full text.

Having opened myself up and been candid, I would now like to urge everyone to write to their federal Senators and House members and urge them oppose any gun control laws, such as Feinstein’s so-called assault weapons ban, high capacity magazine ban, and the Chuck Schummer universal background check legislation.

Hmm, that’s too bad. Now that every law abiding colorado resident has painted a big, fat bulls eye on their foreheads, I guess the criminal elements are going to have a field day with the freshly disarmed and neutered citizens. Expect plenty of colorado citizens to be swatted and charged with offenses solely to disqualify them from firearm posession in the near future.

Perhaps Boulder CO to that list. My hubby visited there in 2003. I suggested that he take the GW sticker off our vehicle. He said that vehicles with GW stickers had the tires slashed at the airport in Denver while he was there.

He said Boulder has shops with anti-Bush signs.

I won’t vacation in Colorado, and ill probably look down upon those that do, as a matter of printable.

But if you want to make an understandable effect upon the body politics in Colorado were going to have to go about this by way of spreading toxic roomers, regarding the inhospitality and insecurity of that State.

Make would be tourist not want to go there because of what they have done.

If I am in heavy traffic and cannot be followed, I like to yell out the window to the drivers with Obama stickers...I like to say, “Hey, someone put an Obama sticker on your car”.

Climate change can be due to many things, esp. changes in the amount of heat coming from the sun.

The tipoff that this is an anti-CO2/grasshouse gas study is the comment by the Somalian that “CO2/grasshouse gases” caused the drought.

More shitty science from overpaid quacks.

So in what way does the bill reduce the number of guns in the hands of criminals?

Not yet. In 2008 when I drove south on Sherman DR near 38th Street, I saw rows and rows of Obama T-shirt sales hanging in view. The hood was so happy.

Berets? CO seems pretty much ready for velvet sombreros and assless leather pants.

The good news is, my Brother who lives in Colorado just received 5 of the 10 Magazines he ordered from Magpul.

They only let you order 5 of each type, so he ordered 5 with the window and 5 without. They only charged him $5 shipping just like they said they would and FedEx delivered them.

The bad news is, Colorado has Stage Four Libtardism and will soon go the way of the Wooly Mammoth.

Such a shame that another domino has fallen to the Commies, just as JFK had feared. Unfortunately, he thought it would happen in Asia.

Been in Greality for 20 years. Somewhere along the way, we picked up some scum like Dave Young. I hate to even say that name.

Methinks I might be moving up to Wyoming soon.

Yes, the “Boulder Airlift” has begun parachuting in supplies.

Given that there is no mechanism to determine when a magazine was purchased, the capacity limit is unenforceable.

Given that “Mandatory Background Checks” are unenforceable, without benefit of prior registration, you can expect extensive legal challenges, and failing that, massive non-compliance.

When a government loses its legitimacy, then you do not obey it. The CO sheriffs should say they will not enforce unconstitutional laws. When Gov. Hickenlooper objects the they ask him why he’s giving free money to illegal aliens flooding his state instead of arresting them?

Virtually none, which is why I basically oppose similar legislation.

However, some of the amendments included exemptions for

transfer to a member of immediate family,

transfer to someone whose life might be in danger and having the firearm would provide protection,

transfer by legal action or court (divorce settlement, inheritance, etc.)

transfer at a gun range or organized conservation organization.

transfer while hunting, trapping or fishing

These were some of the exemptions that I saw being considered a week ago. I was wondering how many made the final bill as the devil is always in the details.
