Prosecutors have confirmed that no charges are pending against former Polish president and leader of the Solidarity movement Lech Walesa, following a complaint alleging that he promoted hatred against homosexuals.
While giving his views during a TVN24 interview on recent debates in parliament about legalizing civil partnerships for homosexuals in Poland, Walesa said, Homosexuals should sit on the last bench in the plenary hall, or even behind the wall, and not somewhere at the front.
Lech Walesa, the former president of Poland, helped bring down Communism.
As a tiny minority, homosexuals should not be overrepresented. A minority cannot impose itself on the majority, Walesa added. They must know they are a minority and adapt themselves to smaller things.
He added that homosexual politicians should not have important posts within parliament and "gay pride" marches should take place on the outskirts of cities and not in the city center.
Walesa's words prompted Ryszard Nowak, director of the National Committee for the Defense Against Sects and Violence, to file a complaint with prosecutors in Gdansk, Walesa's hometown, claiming Walesa had "promoted hatred against sexual minorities."
In a subsequent interview with Radio Zet, Walesa was asked if he would offer an apology for his statement. He responded, I wont apologize to anybody
All I wanted to say is that these minorities shouldnt install their views on the majority. Im fed up with their flaunting.

1. “Comments” are NOT a “hate crime”.
2. Being unwilling to actively endorse deviant behavior, is NOT a “hate crime”.

>> Lech Walesa, the former president of Poland, helped bring down Communism.
Good for him not backing down to these militants
Now, that's refreshing to hear. Good on him.
Absolutely disgusting that anyone would even consider bringing ‘hate crime’ charges against the man who fought and risked his life to free Poland from communist rule.
I alway liked this man, I like him even more. No moral relativism from him. Bravo.
Don’t you love how they put it as “legalizing” gay marriage, is if privately “married” gays homosexual couples are outlaws.
If those aren’t a “hate crime,” what is? I’m thinking nothing.
“National Committee for the Defense Against Sects and Violence”
He knows from raw experience that these so-called committees lead right back to communism. Special committee on this, special committee on that.
I respect your intelligence and common sense Mr. President.
why was there even “charges”?
this is utter BS and is just a scare tactic to intimidate others.
Walensa’s comments should be repeated AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
Capitulation to evil is no virtue.
(those who brought the complaint should pay a criminal penalty equal if not more severe)
Previous acts of heroism should not excuse any crime that he may have committed, if he had committed a real crime. And Lech Walesa would be the first to agree. That's one of the many things that make him such a great man.
Having said that ...
Absolutely disgusting that anyone would even consider bringing "hate crime" charges FOR TELLING THE TRUTH, even though that truth is inconvenient and deep[ly offensive to the international Gay Mafia.
And also consider the fact that at least 80% of all Poles agree with Lech in this matter.
For the international Gay Mafia, the truth doesn’t just hurt. It sets them on fire.
