I guess those that don’t learn from history are dammed to repeat it.

She make me making a difference but those that fight her should never let anyone particularly her constitutions know that the difference she makes is not against but in support of criminals.

Criminals are not hindered by the requirement of a background check.

Exactly. If I go up to C Street here in Greality, find Javier, show him a $50 bill and say ‘Yo Quiero Fuego’, Do you really think he’s gonna say, ‘Oh, no, no, not without a background check.’

People who already own them aren’t affected by the law. The Sheriff is basically saying that he won’t bring charges against those who sell banned items (such as against that NY soldier). Though, I agree with you in rather doubting that a gun store in Weld county could get inventory and go right ahead and sell them.

Cooke said the bill requiring a $10 background check to legally transfer a gun would not keep firearms out of the hands of those who use them for violence.

I wonder how the leftist extremists would react to a $10 tax on every abortion.

BTW, those are really nice paintings. I’ve been a pen-and-ink guy, probably from doodling in school.

Buying a gun should be as easy as voting. The same people who want no ID requirements to vote and even allow convicted felons to vote also want to restrict gun sales to law abiding citizens.

The Constitution represents the terms of our "consent to be governed." If it no longer binds the government, it no longer binds us. The Constitution has a two-fold purpose: to protect us against a tyrannical government, and to protect a legitimate government against us. If it's no longer in effect . . .

The end result of course is that your military units all learn to follow their instructions and orders to the letter.

Well, that's the theory, anyway.

More often they learn how to cover up their screw ups until something really bad happens.

I agree but before you go to take on the usurper think first about how to do it successfully.

Without legitimate government there is but the realm of force and the appeals to the hearts of men. It is not enough to simply declare our allegiance the cause of liberty & constitutional law. We must work to find a way to restore and defend these critical objects of free civilization.

Until we have such a plan it would be wise not to throw out the advantages of subterfuge, infiltration, and surprise. It is more than likely if we are to bring this monster down we shall have to do so from with in.

Cooke said he, like other county sheriffs, “won’t bother enforcing” the laws because it will be impossible for them to keep track of how the requirements are being met by gun owners. He said he and other sheriffs are considering a lawsuit against the state to block the measures if they are signed into law.

Backlash is a comin'!

Sheriff Maketa releases statement regarding gun control stance

Historically, any citizen would be allowed to speak if they arrived at the Capitol early and signed up on testimony records. Although sign up sheets were in place and citizens including myself signed up, we were completely disregarded. Minutes after I signed up to testify, I learned a different process would be utilized and testimony was based on three categories: experts, preferred witnesses, and public witnesses. No explanation was provided to define expert or preferred witness. I was told this decision was made by the senate president and the chairperson of the hearing committee. Additionally, experts would have no time constraints and all others would be restricted to three minutes.

As I made my way out of the Capitol, I was shocked at the number of people who attended these hearings. It's estimated the number of people in attendance reached 1,000. I spoke to several and was told they just wanted their voice to be heard.

I am not sharing this because of the outcome of the hearings that day; rather I am sharing this because of the process implemented and the faces of all those citizens that were never permitted to participate in the process. Government is supposed to be by the people, for the people and on this day, they were crushed and kicked to the side. Special interest coalitions and hand picked experts with no relevant expertise trumped our citizens.

The CO Dems have underestimated the resistance to their anti-constitutional laws. Now they are going to face the whirlwind of defeat in 2014 and recall elections.

I agree. But we need to recognize that we are without a Constitution, even if not yet "without rule of law." restoring the Constitution must be our lodestar, not revolution for the sake of revolution.
