[No one’s perfect. Some of us have shrill voices, others have quirky mannerisms and traits.]

I agree.

Great. I'll disregard your criticism of Sarah's voice, then ;) Do you agree this country is in dire straits and in need of a conservative turn around?

On a side note, I've long admired your tech/graphic skills. Your work adds much to this forum. Blessings to you, Potlatch!

I agree.

Well I prefer to read speeches. So I'll wait for that.

I’ve been an early and consistent supporter of Palin. I’ve also consistently said it would do her a lot of good to take some voice lessons. Adding polish to her substance wouldn’t hurt in the slightest, and would help her with a lot of what are now called low information voters. I’ve read that Maggie Thatcher got voice lessons early on in her career for the same thing, and gained immensely from them.

Palin actually went down to stand alongside (literally) with Brewer during the AZ law furor. The media was spitting hellfire over Brewer and the law, and the virtually all of the GOP leaders were hiding in the tall grass, or giving weaselly, embarrassing answers. I distinctively recall Rubio as giving an example of the latter.

Another reason I value Palin so highly. Just like when she went to Wisconsin during the Walker recall-petition, giving a speech amidst all those unhinged protesters. Another case when all the usual “GOP stalwarts” were in hiding.

"If you close your eyes and listen - she does not sound like the Sarah of Yesteryear.."

Perhaps it's because of age, perhaps voice training, or some other factor, but the shriek/screech has been greatly modulated. Still a little there, but greatly easier to listen to.

Regardless of the message, a speaker loses much of their impact if their voice, appearance, mannerisms, or delivery is unpleasant.

She still sounds shrill. I just don’t like the quirky stuff.

In all honesty, what sounds both quirky and shrill are statements like yours that focus on the inconsequetial while ignoring the sheer leadership of her speech.

What do you mean “Her words make sense, but her delivery is ‘Valley Girl Perky”?

She was fab! She spoke to us like regular people who know better than those “in charge”.

Crap.....just for once, I’d like to see a Sarah thread WITHOUT haters.

No question - Our country is in dire trouble, and perhaps that’s why I am a very ‘serious’ person and lean to seriousness in discussion.

Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments Jane, and Blessings to you too!

Bingo.

Romney would be President right now, and Obama would have retired.

NOW.

But instead, Romney put himself first. So he lost.

Ditzy? Wish you Sarah haters would STFU. There was NOTHING “ditzy” about her speech.

That’s right, I said it......STFU.

Now go tell the mods on me.

For everyone worried about immigration, I’d just suggest to them that if she were ever President, I highly doubt she’d ever sign any form of amnesty or immigration reform. It probably wouldn’t make it through Congress anyway. I doubt one will even make it through this Congress. It’s really a red herring. Voting for her won’t lead to amnesty if that’s what youre concerned about.

What has happened to Sarah? Her words make sense

Well there is a first time for everything.

Remember how bad she bombed with her acceptance speech when she was nominated along with McCain for the Presidential race a few years ago?

Of course McCain and Romney's goon squads got inspired and started stabbing her in the back because she did such a lousy job.

Assuming from your name, you are a girl. Sarah seems to have the “skinny gene” (wish I did).

She could probably drop 3-5 pounds within 2 days....where as I, would take a while.

She is also small boned. Even just a few pound weight loss will show on a petite boned woman.

Besides, as a woman, the clothes you wear can take off or add on poundage.

Nothing to worry about.

I agree with that too Lakeshark. We, who know and read about these people all the time, know what they stand for. But others, who are not familiar, can see things differently - judging by their demeanor.

There are still some jerks here on FR that have PDS. I got into an argument with one the other day. It surprises me they haven’t had the guts to jump into this thread.
