When my senator introduced Sarah it still brings tears to my eyes. She is still the biggest brightest star the conservatives have, God bless her and I’ll help 2cd Division Vet raise that money he speaks about.

“Ultra Folksy” What the hell does that mean? Can you call her an Ultra American!” This sounds like you are calling her a “hillbilly” or “redneck” but, ultra folksy? Really, you certainly could have titled this a different way than sounding like a northern liberal writing another hit piece on Sarah Palin.

She is loved by most relevant Americans!

Governor Sarah Palin is great.
We, the Conservatives, can win with our principles intact, and get our country back. I know it will be hard and take time. The enemy is entrenched and empowered.
Some give council of despair, but despair is the council of the Devil.
Whip it on, Sarah!!

Maybe Ted Cruz is going to do that and she did not want to preempt him. We’ll have to wait to see what he says.

The Solution is simple: CONSERVATISM!

That is what what Sarah is Speaking about.

That is what she has always spoken about.

I hope you do read it because you obviously couldn't hear her through your own inner Bitching going through your Mind when she was talking.

It was ultra folksy, and there ain’t a damn thing wrong with that.

If you actually read the article you would know it wasn’t a “hit piece” as you call it.

It was positive and complimentary throughout.

” . . .you certainly could have titled this a different way than sounding like a northern liberal writing another hit piece on Sarah Palin.”

The key words here are “sounding like” a northern liberal writing another hit piece on Sarah Palin.

I did not say it was a “hit piece!”

I don't believe that statement “ultra folksy” has been used to describe another conservative? Have you?

Yup. the only people ‘offended’ by folksy are elitists.

We collectively need to embrace each and every thing the MSM and the naysayers bitch about. Other than the fact it makes them batXhit crazy, the simple fact is that most people not only like but WANT a simple approach. Their lives are complicated enough as it is without ‘nuanced’ approaches to everything up to and including happy meals.

Full of great quotes.
One I would have given her:
“The biggest problem with Congress and a huge majority of
elected officals at all levels, except for a handful of true Conservatives and Independents, is that they can’t imagine the world of politics without them”.

Great speech. Spanked Obama, the GOPe, the DC elite and Karl Rove. Loved the BIG GULP and the rack and rifle double entendre comment. This was grass roots kitchen table conversational discussion talk about the stark contrast between the founding documents theme phrase of the people, by the people, for the people vs. the cynical, devisive and destructive nature of identity politics being practiced by BOTH parties and yet, only mastered by one party. No teleprompter, no Rovian white board lecture, no scripting to market branding talking points- just from the heart. Class act on Ted Cruz's part too.

I fully expect her to be the target of ridicule starting tomorow with the Sunday DC round table punditry and throughout the week from the usual mindless cable and network news bobbleheads.

I have no problem with the use of ultra folksy to describe Sarah Palin’s speaking style at CPAC today. I like it. She is folksy, also funny and feisty. It’s all positive in my opinion.

I’ll leave it to you to get uptight about it.

I believe the BIG problem is it stands with the “sheeple”.

They are used to being spoke AT, not spoke TO.

We recognize the difference. Those who bark, do not.

God bless we have the likes of Sarah. She is the real spirit of America and hopefully this spirit will somehow hit the GOP. We do have a few Republicans that are conservative Constitutional driven. And we must make sure that we all call King Obama for what he is, a communists black Muslim and his only effort is to destroy America. We have many good black gentlemen and women and pray that they realize what King Obama has done and work to overthrow this tyrant.

Short, quick and to the point. You betray your dislike for Sarah Palin with thinly layered sarcasm.

Her speech at CPAC was not one to propose or support policy. Her speech was inspirational and motivational.

Hopefully, even you can comprehend the difference between policy and motivation.

Great speech!

She hit all the key issues of the day in her unique style. The Big Gulp was a great image, and is a wonderful example of government gone wild under the socialists/progressives in both parties.

As someone said above, the solution is Conservatism - lower taxes, less government, and more freedom. It works every time.

Yup.

When you look at what has been done to education, that is the direct result. Years ago Kruschev said ‘we won’t get you, but we’ll get your children’...and the communists kicked their academia effort into overdrive. Today we have a ‘whirled’ filled with people with no sense of history and no ability to think critically.

By design.

It’s been said repeatedly but the genpub just can’t grasp it for the reasons above. the Left uses 1984 and Huxley’s Brave New World as how to manuals. And in those books, the public were those sheep who were spoken AT. It was all they knew because that’s all there was TO KNOW.

Palin has the ability to speak plainly and despite the best efforts of the left, we are not so totally gone that we recognize the kernels of what she’s getting at. Almost but not quite totally gone. That’s a problem for the left.

I have had hundreds of fights on FR with the PDS crowd who claim we Palinistas are all idol worshiping cultists. But the bottom line is that it’s Palin’s message, not she herself that causes such strong reactions. For us it’s the reaction of identifying with a kindred soul who shares our beliefs and has the will and the megaphone to spread them. It could just as easily be Joe Jones off the street. The ideas are what matters.

But some people are very much threatened by those ideas...dangerous things that they are. So one does not have to stretch their imaginations very far to understand why the PDSers and the MSNBCs of the world share their own common cause and ‘values. It’s because they are the same people.

With this timely reminder from Sarah Palin that conservative principles are as relevant and needed as any time before, one takes heart that perhaps, America is not yet ‘lost’ to leftist politics and all the negative, destructive elements it brings with it. Ted Cruz is also inspiring and gives one a glimmer of hope for the future of the GOP. Its now clear that the Roves and Kristols are steering the Republican party into the shoals of failure as it is subsumed by liberal policies slightly altered with the GOP brand. This way lies the party’s destruction. Palin and Cruz represent the future of the GOP. If they do not - and the nitpickers and whiners will always be with us - not only the party but, ultimately, the nation and our way of life are doomed as they cannot survive the depredations of liberal policies carried to their inevitable conclusion.
