Hannity? Absolutely without a clue.
The USAF anticipated the cuts and tried to prepare for them but the administration shifted USAF funds to less prepared Navy and Army to even out the cuts.
Sequestration is not a big part of the total 3.7 trillion budget but since 2/3 of the 3.7 trillion is totally hands off the whole of the cuts goes to the other 1/3 and half of the total goes to the military. More, the full fiscal year, which ends Sept 30 (?) has to be cut between now and then. It will be a fairly brutal 7 months.
You can bet there will always be enough cargo planes to fly Obama’s “Beast” around.
And no: I am speaking of his car not his wife.
Although the one is a little heavier than the other, but they both have their own plane.
And that's assuming an actual budget gets passed which doesn't cause as much or even more harm to the Military. I work for the AF and it is a sorry thing that is happening. We are in training and due to the furloughs, the students will be spending more time on base which means that the accumulative cost of holding them in an unproductive status will nullify much of the "savings" of the furlough. We had some local plans that would have allowed us to manage things to minimize the problems and save a lot of money (that's right - even some of us evil civilians want to be as economical and efficient as possible, even when we are taking personal hits), but higher "leadership" prefers a one-size-fits-all method which is about as inefficient as you can get. Bureaucracy at its finest.
Obama hates the military as did the Clintons, and is poised now to inflict as much pain as possible. and he’ll do it, not to save money- He doesn’t give a care about our money nor that of our children from whom he Is stealing.
The military trusts Obama, as Boehner says he trusts him.
The difference is, they trust Obama to mess with them for the rest of his term. The military knows what is coming and they prepare for it. They know that a complete wimp is in charge of BO’s opposition (Boner).
We have two political parties and they are both Big Government parties. The GOP is primarily Liberal. The whole "RINO" paradigm now has to be switched around -- as a Conservative, I simply make a lousy Republican. I am thoroughly out of step with the party and only pretending to be a "Republican". The party moved away from me.
Well not to change the subject, but our side has been sending US jobs to China.
So China is the country, currently winning in all this.
Wake up people. We have made China a threat to America. It is bigger than us, and exports more now.
Yet we do nothing, except continue to make it stronger.
Bring back US jobs now.
About half of that amount is to be cut from the military's budget.

It is politics and policy that cause most of the problems. It all starts at the top. Almost all Flag officers are political animals. They crave power and position and most will do whatever they are told to do no matter how stupid and destructive it is. They will not vary.

I’ll add that Ted Cruz did not make me happy at all in his mocking of the sequester cuts for the CPAC keynote speech. He portrayed them as evenly distributed across the budget. Misguided or deceptive. He is smart so I vote not misguided.

I watched all of the recent debates and filibusters. The answer is obvious to me.
The only thing that is never mentioned and it is a large beast in the room:
Feinstein, Boner, for two, are just high.
And Leahy?? He is the Chairman of the gun control hearing!?
It is not funny at all it is outrageous. Not one person in the media nor on this forum that I saw, mentions that he is wasted. His mind and speech are gone.
We have to be more responsible to our kids than to allow these addicts to be in charge of their debt while they’re off doing the business of being kids.
They’re going to be so screwed because of this.
These politicians are wasted. It is apparent in Feinstein’s response to Cruz. She wants to say, and does so to anyone listening, “We don’t pay any attention to the Constitution nor our oaths, here. We’ve been doing it that way for decades or more, so just step aside we’re on our way to our latest lunch/fundraiser where we drink a lot and raise a lot of dough”.
she knows Cruz is sober and it unnerves her like a parent coming home to an open house wild party.

There are places in the United States where 100% of the registered voters cast their ballots for the Democrats. What percentage of the personnel in the military even voted, and if they did, what was the percentage that voted Democrat? There are a lot of people in the military who come from Democrat families and Democrat strongholds. A couple of years in the military won’t turn them into Republicans. The Democrats are in control, and they are using Taxpayer money to reward their supporters. Yes, these cuts will hurt low level Democrats, but they can be sacrificed for the greater good of the party....the Democrat party. Man, that’s what the communists used to say.
If the Air Force has enough money to give “marriage” benefits to two queers shacked up together, it has enough money to haul dead bodies back from Asia!
He mocked the cuts as only being 2.5% by saying the meals of the nigh before had been cut by 2.5% and he was sorry the delegates to the convention were treated so poorly.

I started getting way too political, way to far down the scale, in the late '80s and continued through the '90s. By the end of the '90s even squadron commanders had been politicized to the point that they no longer really commanded their squadrons. It's even worse today - squadrons get literal micromanaged walking orders from the Group level and it appears that Group and Wing folks are being micromanaged from above. My current squadron commander has less authoritative leeway in managing resources than I did as a senior NCO in the '90s. It's really a demoralizing and sad thing to see.
You are 100% correct in your statement: the Pentagon Comptroller Robert Hale is going to take money away from the Air Force budget and give it to the Army and Navy, who have been burning through O&M funds at a much higher rate and now find themselves at a hollow force. The canceling of carrier and other ship deployments was not theater, the Navy is literally out of money.
I am not blaming the Army or Navy, all of this disaster was never supposed to happen. But both parties have literally betrayed our military. It is shameful, and anyone who defends Sequestration upon the military is a shameful person.
I did not know Cruz mocked Sequestration at CPAC, but it is par for the course. He knows that the cut is not "2%" because it is not an across the board total spending cut. As you mentioned, 2/3rds of all spending (Entitlements) are exempt.
What do you expect when the military is as top heavy as it is now?
It is like Guam... it may tip over.
