MARK BURNETT: THE REAL DEVIL Is Messing with 'The Bible'
tmz ^ | 3/18 | tmz

Posted on 03/18/2013 11:51:37 AM PDT by RummyChick

There's a swirl that the devil character in "The Bible" TV show is a thinly veiled President Obama ... and Mark Burnett tells TMZ, it's all the devil's doing ...THE REAL DEVIL.

Burnett -- a deeply religious man -- tells TMZ ... he believes there is a devil on earth. Burnett says the devil has stirred the pot and created a false likeness between Obama and the TV devil.

Why, you ask, would the real devil care about a TV show? Fact is ... the show is HUGELY popular and is having a big impact on viewers. Burnett notes the show last night featured a face-to-face meeting between Jesus and the devil ... BUT it's not the first time the TV devil has appeared on the show. The TV devil appeared in the Garden of Eden scene awhile back and no one said anything.

Burnett believes the real devil is scared that Jesus has now entered the picture and is trying to distract from Jesus' message by creating a false story.

Burnett says, "What could be more annoying to Satan than talking about Jesus?"

Burnett is confident the real devil's plan of distraction will not work, saying, "We believe in the light."

All this will turn out to be is free publicity that may actually get Libs to tune in (just to see the resemblance). Maybe they will even learn a few things! (The Lord works in mysterious ways)

Make-up crew flattened and lifted his nose and lifted and spread his lips? Really? Something here don't pass the smell test. Ultimately, only the perpetually offended will see the likeness of Obamugabe in the charicature of Satan from "The Bible"; a miniseries made for TV. Really, did anyone complain about how much Robert Duvall resembled Jesus in Lonesome Dove?

If it is the same person, there are some pretty tricky and advanced prosthetics being used.

One of their best and I love the opening percussion but I remain partial to “Gimme Shelter” as their absolute very best.

A fave of mine, also-I play it frequently these days...

“Gimme Shelter” was MrT5’s favorite Stones song-he said for years that he wanted it played at his funeral, so when he died untimely, I was gong to make it so. The priest was okay , but I couldn’t get the director to go with it. We played it at the wake, I’m sure that MrT5 was very disappointed...

“going” and “but” work when used correctly...

So sorry for your loss. I also lost my wife (literally, the girl-next-door) to breast cancer when she was 28.

Here's an interesting quote by Jagger re: the background singer on "Gimme Shelter", Mary Clayton.

Jagger: "That song was written during the Vietnam War and so it's very much about the awareness that war is always present; it was very present in life at that point. Mary Clayton who did the backing vocals, was a background singer who was known to one of the producers. Suddenly, we wanted someone to sing in the middle of the night. And she was around. She came with her curlers in, straight from bed, and had to sing this really odd lyric. For her it was a little odd - for anyone, in the middle of the night, to sing this one verse I would have been odd. She was great."

Mary Clayton was a Gospel singer who did backup vocals for various artists, including Ray Charles. She had a regular role on the '80s TV show Cagney and Lacey, and played a maid in the movie Maid To Order. She released her own version of this song.

Thank you so much-I did not know that about the song, but I always have liked the plaintive tone of it. MrT5, who has been gone four years now, was a career Army officer, and he first started liking the Stones in ‘Nam-didn’t they all?
