The End of the Republic?

Snip:

It doesn’t stop there. The Democratic Party’s concerted attacks on the Second Amendment are surely disquieting. Moreover, new reports circulating about some of the Obama administration’s latest maneuvers, must, if they are true, be squarely confronted and made sense of. At the same time that ordinary Americans may be deprived of their guns, or forced to scale back on legitimate ownership of certain models and magazine capacities, the Department of Homeland Security has ordered millions of weapons and over a billion rounds of hollow-point bullets (banned internationally), as well as riot gear and other military equipment. The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) has followed suit, putting in an order for 46,000 rounds of .40-caliber hollow-point bullets. Why, we may wonder, is a weather service being armed to the teeth? Are U.S. citizens now at risk from their own government? After all, the National Defense Authorization Act provides for indefinite detention without warrant or probable cause. The bill does not apply exclusively to terrorists or terror suspects held at Guantanamo Bay; even after a change of wording to allay fears of extra-judicial proceedings, the military may still retain the power to arrest and hold Americans without the writ of habeas corpus or, at any rate, without the obligation to take the judicial process further. As Senator Rand Paul objected, “Saying that new language somehow ensures the right to habeas corpus—the right to be presented before a judge—is both questionable and not enough. Citizens must not only be formally charged but also receive jury trials and the other protections our Constitution guarantees. Habeas corpus is simply the beginning of due process. It is by no means the whole.”

Some patriots are profoundly apprehensive over these developments, fearing something like a “hostile takeover” of civil society by a growing state apparatus.

I am not suggesting that anything so cataclysmic as a state-sponsored putsch is about to take place. I am only remarking on a series of curious and provocative news items and speculating on their concatenation. But if we were inclined to conduct a thought experiment assuming the possibility of such an event, the main obstacle to its success would seem to be the state of Texas, with its long, unlocked coastline, its oil industry, its early history of “lone star” sovereignty, and the (presumably) fiercely independent nature of its people.

Could this be the reason that the Democrats are launching what has been called “a full-scale offensive…with the aim of turning a GOP stronghold into a battleground state,” targeting the growing Hispanic community—a demographic shift favorable to the Democrats, investing in grassroots organizations, and infiltrating the school system via a progressivist indoctrination scheme known as CSCOPE and the Coalition of Essential Schools (CES), supported by Bill Ayers and President Obama? (CSCOPE describes the Boston Tea Party as a “terrorist attack,” praises the morally compromised UN Secretary Ban Ki-moon as an eco-warrior, extols Islam while denigrating Christianity, exonerates the Black Panthers’ strategy of violence to achieve “equal rights,” and so on.) Take Texas and you’ve got America. In this hypothetical scenario, the whole of Texas is the contemporary Alamo and the president of the United States is the incarnation of General Santa Anna.

It's a brilliant strategy, if you stop & think about it. In terms of electoral votes, take Texas and you've got America. To the author... great use of metaphors.

If it’s worth repeating, it’s worth spelling correctly: incremental.

This would not be happening if we have a truthful media. The public needs to turn on the media and blame them too.

Needs repeating from the rooftops. The lying media are the enablers of our downfall, they must be held accountable.

It’s an alarming thought, but there’s probably a good number of us FReepers who will die defending our homes and families within the next few years.

The upside is, taking rounds to the head beats a long, agonizing death by otherwise curable cancer under the thumb of Obamacare.

Well, NOAA obviously needs to be well armed to enforce the coming Climate Change Law violations...

The Green Police are coming!

Americans have enough ammo to shoot every homeland security employee 45,732 times.

I found this comment yesterday in my local paper:

“The United States is a banana republic thanks to the Democrats who think they are entitled to rule the rest of us since FDR captured the government in 1932. Eisenhower was accepted because both the Democrats and Republicans wanted him to run on their ticket. Joe Kennedy stole the 1960 election for JFK via the Chicago machine’s voting fraud. Nixon was taken out by a Democratic coupe. He didn’t do nearly as much mischief as LBJ, Clinton and now Obama, all of which has been ignored by the media and public. LBJ’s power was gained by blackmailing the opposition with tapes made at a mafia owned hotel in Atlantic City where two way mirrors and peep holes entrapped gullible VIPS with free rooms, booze and women. Clinton’s coercion, misdeeds and perjury was notorious yet the Dem. Senate refused to uphold the impeachment and refused to even examine the proof of rape. Our country is in debt beyond its means to repay and the big fools just keep on keeping on. Our education system is deliberately dumbed down so that those who can and are willing to learn are not taught any more than the bottom feeders are able to learn, Clinton gave his beloved Chairman Mao’s Communist China our industrial base by allowing China to dump its cheap slave labor made goods here duty free and saddling our industries with so many regs that they couldn’t compete. . The name of the game was to save China so its communist govt. wouldn’t collapse like the USSR’s. Those in power are determined to make Communism work, one way or the other. We are a third world banana republic already and along with all the third world, uneducated, low mentality immigrants that are being brought in by the hundreds of thousands it can only get worse.”

It’s all crashing down: Amnesty for Illegals; Gay Marriage; Government Sponsored Drug Running; Open/Corrupt Elections; Drones; 1.6 Billion Hollow Points; Rationed Healthcare; Thuggery and Intimidation from the Top; Endless Spending and Taxes and Printing of Fiat Currency; Restrictions on Religious Freedom; Majority Welfare State, Perpetual Undeclared Wars; Federal Infiltration by Foreign Enemies; Loss of Good Jobs; Loss of Affordable Energy; Loss of Sovereignty; The Marginalization of the Constitution and the Entire Bill of Rights; Racial Divisiveness; Class Warfare.

Daily there are new assaults on the fabric of our nation, and the assaults come as frequently from supposed Conservatives as from the Marxists...Here it is, folks.

It's the folks who are supporting it all.

I keep posting the message, not that anyone is inspired to do anything differently, but all of the above is supported by "your tax dollars," i.e., by YOU THE TAXPAYER.

The assaults on the fabric of our nation are committed by the public servants, but they are sponsored by the taxpayers. None of it would be possible without that revenue. So we can all rail against the atrocities all day long, and keep financing them, or take measures to remedy the situation.

It can be done without breaking any laws, which is important because we all seem to love "law abiding" above liberty.

But apparently we also love our lifestyles above liberty; for the remedy would entail some inconvenience in our personal lives; some sacrifice; some hardship. It does NOT entail shooting or bloody feet in the snow. God forbid we engage in drama.

Or we can just keep up the bipolar blustering/whining as America slips from our grasp.

This would not be happening if we have a truthful media.

The media doesn't support the government like the taxpayer does.

Plus a good percentage of taxpayers support the media too.

This is a nation of fat, lazy, greedy, shiftless and irresponsible shirkers, and I don't mean the welfare moochers.

Don’t forget the FDA which needs a few full autos to enforce the raw milk laws on the Amish.

I can’t help but think that Obama is exactly what this country deserves; a country that promotes abortion on demand and a whole host of other evils, cannot and will not survive, and Obama is just a logical continuation of this principle.

I am surprised that was published but it’s all true. There are more of us out there that know what’s going on than it seems. It’s one of the main jobs of the MSM to make it seem like there are more Progressive commies than there are American patriots.
