Mar 19, 2013, 6:27am MDT Magpul preparing to leave Colorado

Staff Denver Business Journal

Magpul Industries Inc. of Boulder intends to "start out transition out of the state almost immediately" after Gov. John Hickenlooper signs into law a measure limiting the number of rounds allowed in magazines, KMGH-TV reports.

The governor is expected to sign House Bill 1224 on Wednesday. The bill restricts to 15 the number of rounds a magazine can hold. But Magpul Industries makes 30-round magazines. The company's website said Magpul Industries has sold millions of its polymer magazines, or "PMAGs."

Magpul Industries posted a lengthy note on its Facebook page in which the company said it expects the first PMAGs to be made outside of Colorado within 30 days of Hickenlooper signing the bill.

I check the state of origin for products I buy, and this move (or not if they back down) will determine whether I buy more PMAGs - in the event that they are ever in stock again. I want ten more, but I’ll settle for zero if CO bans their product and they stay.

Come to Oklahoma!

Honestly, I've lived in New York, Florida and new Jersey, but Tulsa OK has the most beautiful Springtime that is rapidly approaching.

I'd be willing to bet Ol' Rick Perry has made at least one trip and multiple phone calls to Magpul. Texas ain't just about talk.

Wow, Magpul makes high quality products. They would be a welcome addition to ANY state. It’s clear that the liberal nutcases are taking over Colorado. Time to get out of that state while the getting is good and, for businesses and citizens considering relocation TO Colorado, time to reconsider a likely bad location decision which will be regretted in time.

Good for Magpul!

Weld County Sheriff John Cooke says he won't enforce new gun-control measures, and legal experts say he won't be breaking the law.

Great news. Finally a company with guts, integrity and conviction.

Alabama would love to have you!!!

I don’t know the companies entire history. They started with a little rubber do-hickey that you put on the bottom of your mags. Made the mag changes quicker. Hence, Mag-pul. They morphed into a company that makes hundreds of parts and accessories for, mostly I believe, the AR-15 platform. Anyway, good luck to’em

I would like to see them move to a second amendment friendly state with NO INCOME TAX.

Establish that as a benchmark for consideration.

The Colorado legislature shoots itself in the foot over a fantasy; it takes two seconds to change out a magazine, but don’t try to tell that to the idiots in the legislature, who have bought into the egregious silliness of “feel good” Leftist politics.

I don’t think the law would have made it illegal for magpul to produce the mags they just couldn’t sell them in Colorado.

The most interesting comment in the article:

"We will likely become a multi-state operation as a result of this move, and not all locations have been selected,"
