Adelle's Condition is Critical, Life Threatening
Arutz Sheva ^ | 19/3/13 | Gil Ronen

Baby Adelle Biton's condition has worsened and she is in critical, life threatening condition at Schneider Children's Hospital in Petach Tikva.

"We regret to say that Adelle's condition is deteriorating and we ask the entire public to pray for her health," her father, Rafi, said Tuesday. Adelle should be referred to in prayers as Adelle Chaya Bat Adva.

Adelle's mother, Adva, was listed in moderate to serious condition after the attack by rock-throwing murderous terrorists, which caused her car to crash into a truck. Two other daughters, Naama and Avigayil, suffered moderate wounds. The family lives in Yakir.

There has been a surge of attacks against Jewish motorists in Judea and Samaria in recent months. Large rocks thrown at a moving vehicle can easily cause death or serious injury, as they pass through the windshield at a speed greater than that at which the car is moving on the road. Additional injury can be caused if the driver veers off the road, as happened with the car driven by Adva Biton.

The IDF, which was established in order to defend Jews from those who try to kill them, has adopted a lax policy toward Arab terrorism of this kind, however, during Ehud Barak's tenure. ....

My hackles are up and teeth clenched, looking at that picture. Worst thing is that the new DM only raises them further. He's too chummy with that POS Ehud, and he talks a lot and says nothing.

Re Moshe Yaalon, from A7:

Yaalon in Defense Minister's Office: 'I Feel a Sacred Awe' http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/166371#.UUj47m-QYZY "Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon entered his new office at the Defense Ministry Tuesday and has replaced Ehud Barak.

Yaalon was to head his first IDF General Staff meeting as Defense Minister later Tuesday.

At a ceremony in the IDF's Hakirya headquarters in Tel Aviv, Barak told Yaalon, "You are receiving an establishment that is in good hands – loyal, professional hands – which know where we stand and where we are going."

In a possible reference to the defense budget debate, he said, "We need to fight for the things that have to be fought over, and to accept the decisions when the political echelon makes them, and then go over to the other side of the table and get things done."

Barak lauded Yaalon as a person who, "both in uniform and out of uniform, knows where he stands, is stable, does not zigzag, says what he thinks, thinks what he says – he's right there."

"I feel a sacred awe this morning," Yaalon said, "because I know the nature of this heavy burden."

"I remember the day I completed my duty as chief of staff and the feeling of relief I had, and this morning the heavy weight is on the shoulders again and so I really do recognize how great the assignment is."

"IN these moments when I accept the heavy responsibility, I obviously see in front of my eyes many of my friends, especially the first ones who were killed next to me during the War of Attrition, members of the [Nahal] nucleus group [as part of which he joined the military], and commanders who died along the way, and of course, the wounded of the IDF, who are also represented in this room, who bear the scars of war on their bodies, in their hearts and throughout their lives, and I of course remember the missing, whom we must continue to make every effort to bring back to our country.

"I wish to all of us that we will be able to withstand the greatness of the mission and that together we will know how to bring security, quiet and in the future, maybe even peace, in the face of the power of the State of Israel."

I understand the reason for referring to her as Adelle Bat Adva, and I have been using that name in my prayers. Is there any specific significance to Chaya?

You realize that the only way the will be peace between your two people will be when one of the two of you are all dead, right?

“Chaya” means “living”. They must have changed her name. If not, they should. I’ve seen that work miracles.

It may be so, but one must try, although not using the trite formula that has failed so many times in the past, and will continue to fail. To get them to change the formula to something that can work is our only hope. Otherwise, you will be proven right.

The formulas have been handed down to you for 3,000 years.

I really detest intended misleading titles. Cheapens the whole article and draws skepticism of either the poster or the author, whoever made that title.

Deuteronomy 20. There was a reason for it.

Boy, you have to be deep, deep, deep inside the echo chamber if you can read a headline referring to an “Adelle” by her first name, and think of an Israeli baby, not a British pop star.

It’s just the Adele is a world renowned female vocalist, and I think the title would immediately have the viewer thinking of Adele, the singer, rather than the poor child. This type of thing happens alot these days, and is most annoying—a bait title, so to speak, to get the user clicks.

“It’s just the Adele is a world renowned female vocalist”

You’re kidding, right? You are putting her in the same class as someone like Pavarotti?

We are not even speaking the same language. First of all, call me provincial, but I never even heard of this female vocalist. Second, what do I care if people are clicking. I post news that interests me, and you can click or not click on whatever you want. Third, a two-year-old babe is fighting for her life because a sand-Nazi decided to throw a big rock at the car she was riding in, and her name just happens to be the same as some “world-renowned female vocalist”. Should I not post a public request for prayer for her just because of that? What if it were a boy and his name happened to be Jerry Lewis? Give me a break.

I hear ya. Clearly a minor point. This dicussion has taken way more than it should. Let’s get focus back where it deserves to be.
