The Fed is awash in money.

We could cut 30% and be just fine.

Democrats and Republicans love to spend money. The Senate is over there trying to keep the tours going which costs 75,000 a week and we are complaining about 123,000 a year. Both sides need a smack in the mouth.

The Department of Education’s sequester cuts are taking a brutal toll on federally-funded schools on Native American reservations

Really? I'd like to see actual numbers showing that spending by any of these departments has genuinely been reduced. Our school board is always screaming about "budget cuts," when what that really means is "not as big an increase as we wanted."

Ben Franklin, Constitutional Convention:

“Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence on the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power, and the love of money. Separately each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. Place before the eyes of such men, a post of honour that shall be at the same time a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it.”
