An Ipswich principal is in hot water with some parents after he reportedly canceled the middle school's Honors Night.
David Fabrizio, principal of Ipswich Middle School, notified parents of his plan to eliminate the school's Honors Night last week.
"The Honors Night, which can be a great sense of pride for the recipients' families, can also be devastating to a child who has worked extremely hard in a difficult class but who, despite growth, has not been able to maintain a high grade point average," Fabrizio penned in his first letter to parents.

Are they still allowed to have best friends?
Any reason their kid(s) still go to that public screwel?
Look for the parents and kids to organize their own Honors Night bash, and leave the Principal locked out.
Can't have best friends . . . that means you're leaving other people alone in favor of one or two people. Not good.
I would much rather have my kids possess poor reading and math skills that have them deal with this crap and the rest of the indoctrination by the left’s brainwashing!
Translation: The honors night was “too white”.
Horror stories ( To me not my liberal relatives ) of Hunting Bans on local lands, and a zoning facist that fined and brought a young lad to court after he cut down a tree on his own property without her permission and told her off are the norm..
With that as a background, why should this suprise anyone...
“Translation: The honors night was too white.”
Winner winner, chicken dinner!!!
This will really help them face and deal with the hard knocks that come with real life failures. There will always be someone who is better at something than you are and this crap is just setting up a whole generation of weak people who will be unable to cope
No hugging and no birthday party invites because someone not invited might get their feelings hurt. And no cupcakes with soldiers, of course.
DING, DING, DING!!!
The “public school” is the Bus Ministry of the State Church of Humanism.
The public school, including the “charter school”, is BY FAR, the largest, most expensive, most subversive, and most destructive entitlement program
in the country.
The public school is better understood as the government school collective.
It is silly to imagine that you can fix the public schools, because the very concept itself is collectivist.
Any child that comes out of the government school collective with their moral compass and common sense intact does so in spite of the government school indoctrination, not because of it.
It is hypocritical for you to submit your children to an authority with whom you fundamentally disagree. Children instinctively mistrust hypocrites.
If you want to win the culture war, have lots of children (see my tagline) and homeschool them or form your own school cooperative with your church or synagogue and like-minded friends and relatives.
Nobody loves our children more than you do.
Nobody can teach your children better than you can.
Nobody knows your children better than you do.
Your children would love nothing better than to be taught by you, if you start doing so before they are corrupted by the government school collective.
If you have children, make whatever sacrifices you must to get them out of the public schools.
DO NOT FEED THE BEAST!
Especially not with your own children.
And DO NOT TAKE GOVERNMENT “EDUCATION” MONEY!
He that pays the piper calls the tune, and that’s especially true for any government entitlement program.
This is why the affirmative action world loves communism.
Everyone must be poor and do poorly in their lives and work. To do otherwise (to seek excellence for example) is an insult to underachievers.
This is why communism doesn't work...it perverts reality.
Teachers tell children not to have 'best friends' in primary schools... to prevent pain of falling out
Primary schools are adopting a 'no best friends' policy to shield children from the pain of falling out. But critics are warning it is preventing youngsters from learning about the ups and downs of life. Educational psychologist Gaynor Sbuttoni, who provides counselling for children in London, said the practice of teachers encouraging kids to play in large groups instead of developing tight-knit bonds is increasingly common.
Well, mediocrity has a place in the world too. Mediocrity and failure need to be honored too.
If the U.S. is striving towards mediocrity on the world stage, who better to represent us there is not the mediocre students and the failures?
Woohoo! Where do I go and how soon can I get it?
Just leave the kids at home until they’re 18 and issue a HS diploma, sent in the mail. Thereby nobody’s feelings get hurt.
“...who better to represent us there IF not the mediocre students and the failures?”
Every kid gets a little trophy and a blue ribbon. WTF!
Didn’t H P Lovecraft write about weird happenings in Ipswich, but used a fake name for the city?
The parents should print up t shirts that say “Ipswich Middle School, celebrating mediocrity.”
From Doonesbury last year... Son cleaning out room finds his old trophy: “Most Improved Trier, Second Grade.” Son: I tied with the rest of the class.
I’ll bet that Celebrate Poop Sex day is still on though.
Ah, the old Progressive “leveling the playing field”!
No kidding? As a parent I want my child to excel. I have 4 kids, none of them stellar students, but when my child falls in grades I have on several occassions met with student, teachers and principals, to give me the tools to help them along. This year my son has gone from a 2.556 gpa to 4.0 due to hard work on his part, his parents, and his teachers. Its a parents job to teach, teachers are there to help. I have to wonder does the school have all starters on the basketball team? Football team? Volleyball? etc. They best be consistant
