This is where an enterprising young reporter should ask Joe what war and what army uses an AR-15.

"Uses"? None. The AR15 was "used" by the US military in the Vietnam War over 38 years ago.

I spent many months in Vietnam and didn't see a single AR-15. I saw a lot of M-16’s but not a single AR. Are we talking about the same Vietnam war???

The AR-15 first tested in Vietnam was fully automatic.

I do not believe a semi-auto version like Lanza’s has ever been used in a meaningful way, as a ‘weapon of war’.
