There were ‘rockets red glare’ back in the war of 1812 but that was between Britain’s Canadian colony and the United States. It resulted in no geographical changes and no major policy changes.

Au Contraire ~ the War of 1812 taught Americans and Brits that we all needed a border at the Great Lakes to the degree possible. That’s where the famous Webster–Ashburton Treaty came from although it wasn’t signed until 1842.
