Where's the "reversal of course"?

Registration/regulation of firearms is statist dogma.

His bill package hasn’t even been written yet. It’s going to be another one of those bring it to the floor and pass it so we can see what’s in it before it’s even public from the most transparent congress/administration ever.

Then the GOP in the house will fail it, but then somehow there will be a reconciliation vote on it with the GOP saying okay sure we’ll have background checks on all transfers with a tax of some arbitrary amount to defer the costs of the additional background checks.

Its all a ploy, Harry wouldn’t bring it to the floor in the Senate at all unless Queen Pelosi had some plan in the House to get the thing passed in some form.

Boener will go along to get along trading GOP votes for a new highway bill vote sometime in the future.

Obama will sign whatever it is of course and we’ll get 100 pages of regulations for every page of actual law.

“this goes nowhere in the House”

Agreed its DOA in the House.

I have doubts it can even get past the Senate.

Universal “background checks” (read, database of registered guns) here we come.

These liberal asswipes are so easy to read and predict, it’s pathetic.

Yep. A lot of us weren't fooled.

Now he can pretend, to his pro-second amendment constituents, that he "Tried".

It's obvious from what happened here in Colorado, Democrats know: Career be damned. What Obama wants, Obama gets.

Reid's just trying to play both sides.

By his, I assume you mean Reid.

Chuckie Schumickie has a universal background/registration bill ready to go.

Don't be so sure.

It's DOA in the House...unless Boehner decides to bring it to the floor -- as an act of "bi-partisanship".

If a gun control bill makes it to the floor of the House, it will almost certainly pass. All 201 Democrats will vote for it...and, if as few as 17 lily-livered, yellow bellied RINOs vote for it, it becomes law.

You've got to count on Boehner (!!!) to keep it off the floor.

Regardless, this is the rope-a-dope, the good-cop to Feinswine’s bad cop routine.

This is the real deal. The other was just for show IMO. They knew it would never go anywhere.

This is the one they really want to shove down our throats.

GOOD! Now each and every Democrat who votes for this bill will have a very difficult time winning in 2014.

Let the voting record show their treason to the Constitution.

Obama must have weighed in. Too bad Harry ....you lose....and you will NEVER get your funding requests passed in the House.

Now they need to put hairy in the position that he has to vote yes on it. Make him vote for this bill so his constituents will vote him out of office in his next election. His high rating with the NRA will be history and so will his senate career. The house will not pass this bill so we can kill the bill and make hairy history all at the same time. I like a happy ending.

It's obvious from what happened here in Colorado, Democrats know: Career be damned. What Obama wants, Obama gets.

I don't know about this. I think that the Democrats believe that this is a paradigm shift, and that gun-control enthusiasts are a clear majority of Democrats and that gun-control enthusiasts plus gun control apathetics are a clear majority of the electorate in Democratic districts. A strong enough backbone, and a couple of wins, and they'll break the perception of strength that the NRA has. Identical to the pattern they see with gay marriage, where an issue has transformed from poisonous to inarguable in the space of a few years

. Pretty much the only place you'll find Democrats who don't adopt this reasoning is the US Senate. No gerrymandering, too many represent states that tend to vote Republican, and US Senate seats are few and high enough profile that even with the pathetically weak bench the Republicans have, a weakened Democrat can often attract a strong enough Republican to beat him.

Every time they even ‘think’ Universal background check, our side (WE do have a side don’t we? Sometimes I wonder) should say UBC means all active CCP is good anywhere in the 50 states and territories.

You can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater. Okay, that goes beyond malicious and literally endangers other people.
You can't yell "bingo" in a crowded bingo hall. Say what?
You can't yell "faggot" on a university campus. Here we go...

As the scumbag politicians chip away at the Constitution, it's not just the 1st Amendment and the 2nd Amendment they are attacking... it's the whole Constitution.

Did you see this?

White and Wrong in Philly (Selwyn Duke)

(Here's the best part):

Oh, they won't get what they want...at least not exactly and not yet. But, nonetheless, writes Philly.com, "In a scathing letter, Mayor Nutter last week requested that the Philadelphia Human Relations Commission consider whether the magazine and Huber deserved to be rebuked for the article." Why is this significant? Well, when we hear about Englishmen, Canadians, Australians, Swedes, or other Westerners being imprisoned or fined for criticizing Islam or homosexuality -- yes, this does happen -- guess what the instruments of their oppression are.

Human-relations commissions.
