CAIRO Armed Bedouin tribesmen in Egypt's Sinai peninsula on Friday kidnapped two tourists, an Israeli man and a Norwegian woman, as they travelled between two beach resorts, police said.
Six gunmen intercepted the tourists' car and forced them into their truck, the officials said. The pair had been travelling between the resort of Taba, on the border with Israel, and Dahab further south.
Norway's foreign ministry confirmed one of its citizens was abducted but gave no details.
A relative of the man seized identified him as Israeli Arab, Amir Omar Hassan, and said he had contacted his family to tell them he had been abducted and was being treated well.
"He said he was kidnapped," said Hassan's brother-in-law, Kamal Koufini, a resident of Nazareth in northern Israel.
Hassan said "he was safe and in good health, and the kidnappers were treating him well," Koufini added.
The kidnappers want relatives who are jailed in Egypt released, Koufini said.

Damn Amish Bedouin.
The irony here is that Norwegians (though I adore them generally and am still just a wee bit in love with one) are so pro-so-called-Palestinian and so anti-Israel that the ONLY way a Norwegian would be caught dead with an Israeli is if he were an Arab Israeli (comprising 20% of the population.) So there they were, bitching about the Zionist Oppressor and how the righteous Moslems were robbed of their land after (five?) wars they started... And then KAPOW! Kidnapped by the righteous! Sleep well kiddies! Don’t worry, the Zionist Oppressors will probably have to trade each of you for a thousand terrorists just as they did for Gilad Shalit. Wish we could send them to Norway! (Oh but Norwegians seal their borders up tight - it’s just not OK for Israel to do the same!)
Back in the 80s I did a bit of exploring there. Even camped with some Bedouin tribesmen. Different times.
