I wouldn’t want us to have widened the war into China. I don’t think we should’ve jumped in at all. But what really tans my hide is before Mao poured his masses over the border the war was all but one, and afterwards they wouldn’t perform the simplest of actions to stop them. They wouldn’t bomb the bridge over which the Chinamen were crossing. They would barely even admit we were at war with China, and expended great effort to conceal it. I’ll bet most people have no idea we were once at war with China. Then again, most people probably can’t point to Korea on a map.
Generals should be the fist and Washington the brains. I don’t care much whether MacArthur wad sacked or Patton benched, particularly. Well, I do care that we have the best fighters in command at the right moment. But not if they presume to be politicians in addition to their day jobs. What I want to say, though, is it’s tragic that people like MacArthur and Patton were in many respects more perspicacious and subtler than the men above.

Somewhere D.C. did go brain-dead. We the People have been doing all we could to bring D.C. back from the dead instead of unplugging the corpse. We the People believe in miracles, or at least some of us do, and there is nothing wrong with that. A toast to a miracle. May D.C. come back from brain-dead to once more be the sensible creature it once was. May We the People also come back to being a sensible creature not expecting too many miracles.
Why would speak German or Japanese? Because you imagine we were fighting off dual invasions? No. How did that get into people’s heads? Because they’re conditioned to believe the only just wars are defensive wars, as is right, and wouldn’t like to think of WWII as it actually was, which was not so defensive.
Japan could’ve landed here, though I don’t think they could’ve taken it. Germany couldn’t invade us in a million years, unless maybe somehow they allied with Mexico, like in the infamous Zimmerman telegram, and shipped a million troops over without us knowing. But no, not even then, because who’d have been fighting Russia? In any case neither wanted to, nor did they try.
Zimbabwe? is Omaba running a war he hasn;t told Congress about. Maybe that's where the 1.6 billion rouns of ammo have gone.
Does this mean that Mr. Young and his family will be reporting back to the cotton fields, because the Civil War didn’t work?

Yep - wars tend to work best when you act as if you’re at war with the enemy and don’t spend so much time telling your warriors to be sure and not insult the enemy because it might hurt his feelings and make him mad.

Okay, Mr. Young. Let’s have you back up your assertion. Name an instance where a nation showed us aggression, military force was NOT used, and yet the transformation was peaceful, successful, and complete. Please and thank you.
Simple compare the air wars of World War II with the air “wars” since 1990 for proof of this statement.
Wars when they run their full unrestrained course have always settle things. You can start your research on this subject in the Bible and go through 1945 and find few, if any, examples to the contrary.
BTW - as a sidebar aren't the people involved in this article ambassadors? Don't their jobs and advancement depend on a constant level of crises through out the world?
Agreed. Our young people have been target practice for too long in places we are hated.
I sure hope there is not a real war because if it was run as incompetently as Iraq and Afghanistan, we would lose.
